5

To choose this course were the subjects having practical importance in real life world and required when applying for jobs are included in the curriculum like Data Structures and Algorithms. The curriculum also includes personality and health development programs like yoga and english. Some courses in the curriculum are unnecessary for direct use in the core subject but they are helpful in building fundamental concepts. Exams happens two times in a semester and there are midsem exam and endsem exam which are moderately difficult.

Campus Life

5

There are various annual and technical festivals along with cultural fests. The names include Resonanz typically held in the month of October when new freshers arrive in the college this is their first festival. Then in the month of march one of the biggest fests in North India is organised known as Moksha. The library is fully air conditioned with great chairs and there almost every book in the library according to all the courses offerred by the college. Alongwith that there are magazines and journals available in the library. The classrooms are fitted with smart boards for first year students and for next year onwards some classes have smart board and some have blackboards. There are more than 50 student-run social groups, clubs and societies. Ranging from enterpreneurship societies to tech societies, musical society, dance society, yoga society, and many more.

Admission

I applied for Delhi Technical University (DTU) CSE, NIT Delhi CSE, NIT Silchar CSE, NIT Jamshedpur CSE, IIEST Shibpur CSE. In these colleges I was getting a confirmed admission. I chose Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT) CSE over these colleges because NSUT is one of the top government colleges in India with a great placement record. Yes, I couldn't get admission in IIT Madras CSE, Aerospace Engineering, and in IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Roorkee for CSE branch because my JEE Advance rank was not good enough to get a seat in these premiere institutes on India. Admission process for NSUT follows after the declaration of JEE Advance result after that the Joint Admission Counselling (JAC) starts in which we have to apply using JEE Mains application number. Then fill required details and fill preference choice for colleges and their offered courses and then wait for the round 1 seat allotment. If a seat is allotted to you, you have pay seat acceptance fee of 95000 and then visit that college with original documents for document verification.

Faculty

4

The faculty is great they are ready to help us whenever we approach them. They adjust some classes according to our requests for some events or programmes. The faculty-to-student ratio 1:70 for theory class and 2:35 for practical labs. The faculties are amazing though some are great some aren't that great but overall all faculty members are helpful. There are majorly two exams in a semester - first midsem examinations and then endsem examinations. These examinations have moderate to high difficulty but the questions are doable and the toughness is not that great. Around 2 to 4 students from a batch of 120 fail to clear the exams as 40% is required to pass the exam.

Night Life

5

Gym are open from 6am to 8pm everyday expcept sunday whereas library is open from 10 am till 6pm but during examinations the library timings are extended so that student who wish to sit in the library for examination preparation can use the facilities of library. Then there is a central fountain with sitting place, cafeterias are open till late night, and online food delivery is also possible inside the campus. The main campus of NSUT is placed in Dwarka with great hangout places nearby like Vegas mall, Sports courts, Smaaash, Iskcon temple Dwarka, National Museum, Central Park, etc. The campus is safe with guards every where and at night also the campus is very safe. The hostel timings are 6am to 10pm. And the campus gate is almost open with guards there because some staff quarter members may come late in night but it is secure with CCTV surveillance everywhere.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.

I would not suggest On Campus placement for this college as the placement cell is not very good here. However one can score a great package if they develop skills in the field of chemical engineering.
