Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is latest as prescribed by University of Delhi. The new education policy rightly coincides with the course curriculum. The exam is of moderate level and it's not that difficult. The semester exams take place every 6th months preferably in May and December. There are no mid semester exam. Yes there are internal examination and practical which might become hectic sometimes.

Internships Opportunities

4

There is internship and placement cell available in college which works to provide internship and placement opportunities to students. They bridge the gap between students and the company. The companies do actively participate in internship and placement opportunities. The college also provide its own internship as a part of their office and management related works.

Placement Experience

4

The students become eligible for placement after the 4th semester examination that is when they go in their final year. The company start visiting after 4th sem itself. And big 4 Companies came for bcom and bcom hons course. There were about 40 companies that took part in placement and visited our college. The highest package offered was about 22 lakhs per annum. And on avg the offers were of 4.5 to 6 lpa. Majority of students get placement unless you have backlog in any semester exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is nominal. I paid 8000 as my first year fee. My second year fee was approx 10000 and in my final year it was 13000. These are approx values. The college also provide scholarship for those in need and it is named as principal aid fund.

Campus Life

4

The annual fest do take place and event also happens around the time of Holi and Diwali. The traditional Events happen. Also there are more than 40 active clubs present so they also organised their own specific events and various guest and profound professionals come and give their insights. The library is vast and has variety of books. The timing of library are 9 am to 9 pm and it was being considered to be open 24/7. The classes do have air conditioners and smart boards which help in better study environment for students. The sports event do take place twice every year.

Admission

I wanted to choose and go for government college. I was got admission on merit basis and it was on the basis of class 12th percentage. When my class 12th results came, I was pretty sure of going in delhi university and I wanted commerce stream so I choose Shaheed Bhagat Singh college as it's among one of those prestigious name for commerce.

Faculty

4

There are approx 50-60 student in a class and there is 1hr time allotted per lecture. They are friendly and interactive in nature. Shivangi Dhawan ma'am is very cooperative and she tries to help you in every possible manner. There are internal examination that happens before the final semester exams. And they are quite easy to crack.

Night Life

4

The college has canteen available and once can get access to wide range of food, whether be it noth indian, south indian chinese, fast food and many more. The college does not have any hostel but there are pgs and flat available within the range of 500m of college. Only college are residing there so the crowd and night life is chill. There is a place named authority which is famous hangout place in evening. And select City walk is just 1km away which also is good spot

Students of 3rd year are eligible for the same. Mckinsey, BCG, Bain, Blackrock, Meesho etc being the most prestigious recruiters. Highest package varies, but it went around 36 L last year. Avg being around 8 L. I would say most students who apply for placements get placed, however only a few get placed in the top companies. I personally wish to pursue an MBA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Although, people say that B.Com doesn't have a great scope to it, I feel like there are many life lessons that we are taught during our college years. Since the introduction of NEP 2020, there has been a rather great emphasis on practical learning. In our college, we are asked for presentations and group projects to promote learning and communication. The presence of SEC and VAC also helps you develop your soft skills, groom your personality and live a happy and healthy life. Exams are help at the end of every semester. There are a few guides and PYQs with the help of which a student can prepare for these exams. They are relatively easy in my opinion and do not require extreme efforts. Overall, it's a great experience and a great opportunity to learn so many things.

In the context of a fictional scenario, the placement scenario would depend on the specific college within Delhi University. Some colleges have robust placement cells that facilitate campus placements with various companies. The placement scenario can vary, and it's advisable to check with the specific college for accurate and up-to-date information.
