The curiculum of our coarse is ok ok not a very good because this is our first year and we are just managed the basics and not ready to handle all the coarses properly. The timing of our exams is according to their marks. Like for hourly marks we have one hour ,for mid term we have one nd half an hour and for practicals also we have one and half an hour .We have 2 and half hours to complete our end term exams

Hello,I am Gurleen.Recently studied in pau ludhian. My course is btech food technology and my department is food science. The name of my college is college of agriculture. I've paid Rs:150000 for course fees which includes tution fees, lab fees, development fees, library fees and other compulsary charges. Am still live in hostel for which I've pay Rs:10170 for a semester. Messs fees would be paid month by month. There are so many scholarships which our university provide us .We are able to get these scholarships with our educational skills and proper activity in our other courses like NSO,NSS,NCC. Our university is in peaceful area.According to me its a best place for those students who loves to avoid noise. It is evergreen university. Maintenance of university is very good as compared to others. There is proper arrangements of guidance material. Our university including its own market also where we get everything what we need. There is no politics trend in our university. It is best suited university for me.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
