Sophia College for Women Mumbai, MSC Microbiology

Remarks

Positive remarks - teachers and studies are good.accomodation is good. Negative- veg food and non - veg food are not served differently.this is inconvenient for pure vegetarian students.so this should change otherwise everything is perfect.

Course Curriculum Overview

Our college became autonomous this year.so college has it's own curriculum.it organizes it's own exam and results are also given on time.we have six semesters.the college organizes syllabus and exam papers in a way that is beneficial for students in day today life also.

Placement Experience

Placements are pretty good.but not extremely perfect. but many students of college are working at good positions and are earning good.and aluminis are at good position and carrier.i Don't know much about internships but microbiology internship isn't there I think.

College Events

3.5

There are many events celebrated in my college. Most famous is kaleidoscope. It is celebrated for many days and has many activities like music, dance and many like quiz. Many students from different colleges attend this fest

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible. Our college fee is only 7000 rupees. Many other charges are also there but it is is feasible because it reaches up to 10000 rupees in a year.so it is pretty good. College is aided by government.

Fees and Financial Aid

I don't know about loan facility but many scholarships are provided by our college. Scholarships are mainly for the students who are unable to pay the fee and are pretty intelligent in studies. There are many advertisement of scholarship on the notice board.

Campus Life

We have extra curricular activities ,sports ,labs.etc. We have chemistry lab, science lab, physics lab ,maths lab ,zoology Lab, and many others. We have gym and a sports club. Many sports like football and basketball are played.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes there is a council of alumni. I don't know Much about it but there is a council of alumini. And they provide some help in hostel by buying things like washing machine or refrigerator every year. They might be doing some other things too but I don't know about that.

Admission

To get admission in this college- I filled a form.after that merit list was out which had the names of selected students.the selected students filled the fee and we're selected.this is the complete process.

Faculty

My college faculty is very nice and teachers are humble , polite , graceful and little strict.they clear all doubts with interest and dedication.they never get irritated with questions and answer patiently

As we are in the 1st year of our college, I won't be able to answer this accurately. But, as far as what I've heard from the alumni and seniors, the average placement stats of this college is around 15LPA. The highest package may scale up to 30LPA.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements from starting of the second year. The placements commence then and continue till everyone is placed. Being a young college, the placements are improving on a yearly basis with new companies being onboarded. The average package stands around 12-13LPA.

SDA Bocconi Asia Center, IMB ( International Masters in Business)

Reviewed on May 3, 2020

Remarks:

I had honestly applied in only a selected number of colleges, as I was doing really well in my coaching and was always among the top 2. Since, I was expecting a lot from myself, it created performance pressure and I went blank during the actual CAT examination. So SDA bocconi was among the top 2 options that I had. It is less than a decade old and has still managed to provide good placements. The most fascinating part is the entire semester in Bocconi,Milan which is the 21st best college in the world and 7th in Europe. I also spoke to many aluminis and hardly got to hear anything that will stop me from taking admission in SDA bocconi. Plus, the advantage of the college being in a city like Mumbai has it's own advantages.

Remarks:

College management is highly supportive of student needs. The management listens to student issues and tries to solve it with proper thinking and strategy. The college and the composition, though is extremely dynamic and diverse, students live together peacefully in harmony, supporting and helping each other whenever needed. Though being it's initial stages of setup, the college faces certain issues with placements and internships, but slowly with every batchs learnings, these are also being cured. This ensures that students are always on their toes and ready to take on challenges.

Very very honest review I wish I was given :_)

In Mumbai, Sophia at least has a bit of greenery and space. It has a central lawn and a nice environment. I chose this college for the name it holds and its alumni. I was also happy with the course i was granted here. I did apply to two other colleges but did not get the subjects i wanted. To get admission in Sophia, you have to register in the Mumbai University site first and then in the Sophia College For Women official site. After that, all notices will be sent to the registered email. The merit list will also be mailed. There are 3 merit lists, and they come out with gaps of around 1 to 2 weeks. The first list usually consists of previous alumni of the college who have done their JC there, those who have scored well in their 12th boards and the ones under Christian reservations. The second list consists of the ones coming after the ones who scored well for their 12th boards in sequence, and those looking to avail hostel seatings in the college. The remaining are in the third list. After this, an amount will be needed to be paid as adimission fees to secure your admission to the college....Read More
