Course Curriculum Overview

3

I chose Comouter Science and Engineering Hons. And I feel like I have learned more from YouTube and by myself rather than the university. Maybe it's my fault but that's the truth. I had to self study a lot and in some courses like cryptography the teacher was good. The teaching goes according to the syllabus and they have a clear plan.

Internships Opportunities

2

A lot of companies have come and taken up students but since I haven't taken up any opportunities I don't know about this. But I do know that students can get an internship in their own and that whole sem they don't have to attend and they will be getting good marks by the end.

Placement Experience

2

I didn't choose placements so I don't know much but a student gets eligible for placements by the end of 3-1 sem. A lot of big companies like Microsoft, tcs etc come here and take up people. I got a job on my own in Hyderabad.

Fees and Financial Aid

Per year there are 2 semesters and per sem it is 1 lakh 20 thousand. So per year it is 2 lakh 40 thousand. But if you score good marks in LPUNEST which is an admission exam conducted by LPU, your fee will be waivered. I got like 80% and I only had to pay 70,000/- per sem. And under sports quota it is free, all of the courses. Extra fees are easily taken by the management for extra activities such as sports or games etc. Extra 14,000/- is needed for placement classes. And sometimes you might have to pay for extra courses according to your stream. I took Hons. In BTech for which I had to pay extra 15,000/-.

Campus Life

4

This is the best university when it comes to extra curricular activities like sports or clubs etc. a lot of events keep happening and the overall experience is great. The classrooms are good equipped with AC and computer labs are everywhere. There is a big library as well for every department.

Admission

I was thinking of applying to BITS but I knew that it was out of my skill set. I always wanted to join a university far away from my place and had a lot of events and at the point I got an ad on Instagram. So I thought why not give it a try and the fees was in budget as well.

Faculty

4

The faculty is good but I don't think is that skilled enough. Some are exceptionally good like Ms. Gunseerat Kaur and others who have helped me push through and achieve and motivate me while others don't really care much. Overall the faculty is approachable. There are 3 CAs per sem and two out of three is taken. There is Midterm and end term tests.

Night Life

3

I lived outside the campus and it is actually dangerous outside. But that never stopped us and since it is a student area the shops would be open till 2 AM and no body usually sleeps in the night here. There is a mall inside the university as well and that is where people typically hangout in the evenings.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
