Course Curriculum Overview
The course has 4 semesters and is divided as follows.. 1st semester has 5 theory and 2 practical (general introduction to forensic science and ciriminology , crime scene management, instrumental analysis in forensic science, forensic biology, and serology ) 2nd sem also has 5 theory subjects and 2 practicals. Meanwhile syllabus for 3rd and 4th semester has not been provided. The teaching method is traditional chalk and talk . The semester has 2 CTS and finals at the end of 6 months .
Fees and Financial Aid
For masters of forensic science the current fees structure is 7000 for 1 year for both girls and boys . It's a two years course which includes 4 semester. Total fee is 14000 with additional examination fees of 1150 for each semester. Scholarship is given to all reserved category students except general category.
Campus Life
The campus of our university is quite good and huge in area. It has lots of greenery and well maintained places for students to study and hangout . It also has a building for library which has thousands of books for all the different departments. Traditional days are celebrated in the campus for the students. There are no extra curriculars held in our department as of yet .
Admission
This is one of the government colleges and oldest in the state of Chhattisgarh which was my prime reason to select this college. It also has many other specialised departments providing a wide variety of courses . The admission procedure did not require any entrance exam . It was on the basis of graduation score . The cut off was 60% for all categories.
Faculty
The department is new so it lacks faculty for all the subjects. The current faculty is great and supportive as well . The head of our department is also very supportive and understanding. He's also my favourite among all the teachers. The exams are neither too difficult not too easy . Usually the paper is strictly syllabus based making it little easy to score good .
Night Life
I'm living outside the college campus in a private hostel which is at a walking distance to the university. The night life in the university campus is not big as students are not allowed to go out after 8 in the evening. The physical education department has gym that is open to all the students with a minimal fee of 100 rupees for a year .
