Course Curriculum Overview

4

The reason i choosed this university because of many reason like it was close to my house, affordable tuition fees, DAV committee. i just recently joined the university but in my mean time there were many activites that were occured related to my course. like recently campus organized a GDG event , where many students had participated and gained new things to learn. i would like to suggest in computer labs the cpu models are too old the campus should replace them with the new ones. The exams schedule is good for preparation and the difficulty level of exam are quite easy

Fees and Financial Aid

I Himanshu Studying B-Tech CSE In DAV University , Jalandhar. This Course Have Fees Of Total Rs:138000/Year and Rs:62500/Semester. We Can pay The Tuition Fees In Three Installments Per Semester. The Tuition Fees Depends Upon The Selection Of Course Like BCA Has Less Tuition Fees Than B-Tech. During The Registration Only Rs:10000 Will Asked To Be Paid Rest Of The Amount Can Paid Later . DAV University Provides Many Scholarship Plans For Students , Some Of Them Are 1) If a Student Have Achieved More Than 80% in 12th Then The Student Will Get 50% Off From Tuition Fees In First Year Only 2) It Provides Wider Opportunities SC/ST Categories. Like The Students Coming Under This Condition Will Have To Pay Less Tuition Fees As Compared To Other Students etc.

Campus Life

4

My Campus Life is Good i have made new friends which are very friendly in nature . campus usually conducts a seminar once in a monthe of any course it really help the students. campus also have many clubs like reejh club, art club, music club etc The Infrastucture of some classes are not good like in some classes there're no ac which makes students to study in summers

Admission

i choose this university because it was close to my house , affordable tuition fees , good placements. I haven't applied to any other colleges for admission i just browsed the reviews of the university. During the admission the university will the student's adhaar card, 10th and 12th DMC certificate, father's and mother's adhaar card. if a student have achieved 60% or more in 12th he/she can take admission but for students falling under SC/ST condition the percentage falls down to 40%.

Faculty

4

Faculty members are really helpfull and kind , we can consult them at any time and they provides us the solution , they are easy to approach mainly in the admission cell or staff room. All faculties are good but in some faculty there are teachers that are rude , the fun part most of students dont approach them. There is 1 Mid Semester Exam And End Semester Exam , The Weightage to pass the exam is 40/100 or more including MSE (exam) Numbers , assesments, attendance etc . if a student fails to achieve 40/100 then he/she will have prepare for reappear. The difficulty of exam is quite easy most of the question are repeated . Most of the student passes the exam but in some subjects like maths they usually get reappear. If a student wants to pass the exam he/she must study regularly.

Interview Experience

1

No i didn't faced any gd or interview There are many ways of admission there is a entrance exam or simplly the way by reaching them I haven't prepared for anything for admission i just simply reeached the campus for admission

Night Life

5

Every night the warden takes attendance of hostlers. the famouse hangout for students in the campus is the lover point . the location is totally safe

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
