Likes
- The scope of placements at IIIT Una is almost 100% .
- IIT Una was under the mentorship of NIT of Himachal Pradesh and that was NIT Hamirpur and that's why it's better than many other IIITs.
- The learning culture here is god like as we are taught to the core and students here becomes adept of their subjects.
Dislikes
- The college is quite far from main city and therefore basic necessities are lacking.
Course Curriculum Overview
Well, there were many reasons as IT was replaced by CSE a few years back and then CSE with data science. Fortunately at IIIT Una, IT is among the most sought after branch as it provides learning and placements better than those branches and hence I chose this branch as soon as I got IIIT Una.
Placement Experience
Infosys and TCs as not many international firms such as Microsoft or Amazon have seen the potential that we have. It doesn't matter though as many complain that TCS offers less but to our students and average of 10 lakhs is offered to maximum students.
Fees and Financial Aid
Our yearly fees is 325000 and every IIIT has the same fees. However I feel novelty to be studying in such a vibrant place UNA which has mountain range and a weather for which people pay in thousands. So, fees to me of I compare with the kind of returns that my college will help me to get, i think the fees is justifiable.
Campus Life
Campus is almost 50 acres and has three huge canteens inside the campus. One canteen operates till 2 am and we have an international styled cricket ground. Mridang is our cultural annual fest and Sporto is our annual sports fest and many colleges of Himachal Pradesh participate in that. Our campus is clean and also see snowfall during peak winters.
Hostel Facilities
There are four boys hostels and two messages and four seater rooms cost me 66000 a year. The rooms are big and spacious and can easily accommodate four students. Since it's winter all throughout, there are no ACs but we do have fans and that's more than enough.
Admission
Well, IIIT Vadodara is indeed the best when it comes to IIITs but rank of 15000 is required and I was ranking 41000. Jee counselling is how admissions happens here and for IT branch rank upto 45000 for general category is accepted.
Faculty
Faculties here are not puppets and they believe in making us a die-hard studies fan. They themselves in their life span have done loads and loads of researches and they push us for the same. Modern learning is what they believe in and therefore studying under them is a real privilege.
Night Life
Una is a place of religious importance and therefore we have many religious sites close to our campus such as Dera Baba Rudra Nand, and Kila Baba Bedi Sahab. Mahavir Giri and Solasongi Fort are other places where we often go to to unwind.
