Likes
- I like how this college is developing day by day like there are real and better changes done for students learning. As social events are organized it provides students to boost their confidence leading to proper social interaction and participation
- Most importantly the faculty here is very good at teaching involving unique method of learning with practical knowledge. Faculty serves as good mentors by motivating students thus boost confidence and knowledge.
- The campus provide great infrastructure and attraction to outsiders. The curriculum is well designed and helped me in managing time and being consistent. It is thus helping me in my personal growth.
Dislikes
- I personally feels the schedule is quite hectic as there are classes from 9am to 5pm which decrease the interest of attending classes.
- The time table gets often change which creates confusion and sometimes if genuinely someone gets late 5-10 min in class fine is asked.
- Sometimes there are long break in between two lectures which creates irritation and disinterest
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum includes better understanding of subjects with practical knowledge. So as to become a software engineer practical knowledge is very kuch required. Here, the main focus is on skill development. Labs are provided and approximately 2 hours of lesson is conducted everyday in the time table for better improvement of skills. If the student faces any difficulty during practical process the faculty is very kind in helping them. Thus helping us to become developers. Sometimes the computers of the lab doesn't work which is quite a drawback and require improvement. In between the semester msts are conducted to prepare for the finals and at the end as syllabus is completed finals are conducted.
Internships Opportunities
Companies that approach here for internship are wipro, infosys, tech mahindra, bosch etc. There is good stipend offered approximately 3000-6000 for 3 months. It is the main objective to submit and show project work for any company's internship. Projects are made using intellect and skillful brain. It is necessary to create different and attractive projects to show case yourself from others.
Placement Experience
In the last year training is provided and at last there are opportunities given for campus placements. Many companies come here and select eligible students. Most of the students are selected. The highest package is of 50lpa which is a good start for any newbie. After degree i plan on getting a suitable job according to my requirements and need.
Fees and Financial Aid
Total fee per sem is 52 lakh combining scholarship from 12th board. Also if there is above 9 cgp scholarship is provided upto 30%. Examination fee is 1200 and Registration fee is 1000. It is quite expensive but considering the course and facilities it is acceptable.
Campus Life
Many cultural festivals are organised by different clubs to motivate students to participate. Star nights are conducted. Mostly these events are held monthly except exam time. For eg prom night, dj night, garba celebration, diwali and holi celebration, freshers and farewell etc. There is big library located at the campus proving all books for different genres containing vast collection of books and magazines. Faculties uses smart classes to engage students in better learning with use of led projector. Students who are interested for sports or ncc nss are provided better opportunities to participate and compete with other universities.
Hostel Facilities
There are different blocks in girls hostel each block has difference in room some are of 2 people and some for three. I live in a 2 girls room and the room is beautiful. There is proper window facility and balcony is there which provides good ventilation for the room also attached bathroom containing facilities of geyser in winters. The room is very neat. There are big cupboards and clothes fit in properly.
Admission
I choose this college because i had heard about the academic reputation as it provides adorable educational system compared to other universities. The campus life is good and many events are conducted to maintain the interest of students and helps in socializing. Location is quite brainly choosen as near chandigarh attracts tourists and students for high living. The universities provides many placement opportunities as many companies come here to interview and select students which gives me a great opportunity and is the main reason to be here.
Faculty
I'm grateful to have such kind teachers here. They are always ready to help students. They are very approachable at any time. I liked my dsa and python teacher. They were very understanding. Unfortunately they don't teach me this semester but they are always ready to help. My python teacher gave me great advice and always tell me to reach him in any need. The way of teaching was very impressive and there nature was great. Exams are held according to the subjects in each semester. The level of exams are moderate to motivate us to be consistent and focus on the subjects carefully. A small percentage fails to clear the exam for eg if there is a class of 50 students 30% tends to fail.
Night Life
In the public areas there is gym containing all basic instruments for workout and library containing vast collection of books and magazines. There are many cafeterias which provide good food and drinks. Hostel is well situated containing a park and playground. Timings for hostel are 7pm for girls hostel and 10pm for boys hostel. I like to hangout in girls hostel park and the locality around is very safe and secure
