Remarks
AIMS is a decent institute to join. But at the same time, it has a few negative aspects like, little infrastructure, time taking in case of maintenance, too many formalities for outings to hostel girls, etc.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is structured and well planned. Though it feels like back to school, to maintain a balance between regular curriculum and add-on value programs, we have a pre-designed schedule from 9.30AM to 5.30PM.
Internships Opportunities
We have to undergo internships between 2nd and 3rd semesters for atleast 4 weeks and the stipend is dependent on the employer. We also get the opportunities to work as interns according to the corporates who approch our college and it gives us the practical exposure.
Placement Experience
The add-on value programs like the advanced Excel training, business analytics, soft skills,etc., Are of great help that the students could develop themselves increasing the chances of jobs. AIMS has a placement coordination cell, to train students in getting placed. Students have been placed at corporates like, Deloitte, Byju's, ICICI prudential, etc.
College Events
Our college celebrates many events like, the Independence day, Republic day, Kannada rajosthavam, women's day, Kargil Vijay diwas, Teacher's day etc. We always have events and awareness programmes, marathons,etc conducted for various reasons and on various occasions, inter department sports fest, literature fest, etc
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is feasible when compared to the other colleges in this line. The fee for MBA Management quota is 9 lacs. The return on investment (ROI) is worth and can be recovered as the placements are pretty decent.
Fees and Financial Aid
The scholarship is mainly based on the merit performance of the student. The college also gives a concession based on the financial background of the family. Students can get further concession based on the performance in a written test and interview conducted by the college.
Campus Life
We have workshops on various topics frequently. Inter department sports fest, literature fest, cultural fest,etc are also conducted. Our college has equipment nd arena for games and sports like, basketball, volleyball, carroms, chess, table tennis, etc. We also have computer labs for excel training, research incubation,etc.
Hostel Facilities
The college infrastructure is small yet it has all the necessities. The hostel infrastructure is decent, having single, double and triple occupancy rooms in a five storey building, with a common dining hall in the ground floor.
Alumni/Alumna
We have alumni meet once in a while. They share their experiences at AIMS, their current corporate life, the options we have to grow in career,etc. The seniors are friendly and approachable, guiding us depending on their experiences.
Exam Structure
We have assessment tests after completion of each module in every subject and an internal exam for 40 marks each subject for half the syllabus. We also have pre final exams before the board exams. All these assessment tests and exams help students to know their mistakes and how to present in the board exams.
Admission
The first criteria of my admission was my marks. I secured 75%in my graduation and 87 percentile in MAT. Then I had to undergo a telephonic interview assessing my ability to communicate and then a Skype interview assessing my etiquettes and knowledge.
Faculty
The faculty at AIMS are all very experienced and have profound knowledge of corporate world. They bring in the corporate examples to our text book theories. The Faculty are friendly and approachable. They always assist us for a better understanding and better performance at our jobs!
