- The university's campus is a large space. There are separate blocks for UG and PG. I appreciate the overall campus life, and also the environmental aspects like trees and plants around.
- As several events take place on campus everyday, the campus life always has something happening, make the day fun and entertaining. However, the quality of social interactions depends on your willingness to interact with people.
- There is a good student-teacher relationship which helps the mentorship be of quality. With interactive teaching and seminars by industry experts, the teaching quality is good.

- The placement services are good for this course, as it provides students with multiple job opportunities in various top industries. Students get hired in top firms like ITC, Deccan Herald, The New Indian Express, Bangalore Mirror, CNN, Pink Lemonade.
- The quality of infrastructure is updated for this specific course as it provides the students with audio and visual studios for the different course activities.
- The course is very relevant to the career of my choice as it focuses on more forward topics. The hands-on experience in the studio as well gives a glimpse of how things work in the real world. The knowledge given by this course will definitely help.
Course Curriculum Overview
Aspects of the course like Reporting and editing, advertising and PR drew my attention to this course. It covers a wide range of subjects in the Journalism industry making the student aware of every branch. The difficulty level of the exams is good, not too difficult. Proper preparation can help gain high marks easily.
Fees and Financial Aid
The overall fee for the two-year course is 2,10,000. It is divided into 1,05,000rs each. Students who come from outside Karnataka have an additional fee to pay. All requirements for the course, including the outreach program, are included in this fee. On the other hand, scholarships based on various merits are provided to students. Campus Life
The annual fest of this course is MediaCon, held once a year. It provides students with an opportunity to engage and interact with renowned industry experts like politicians, film actors, directors, and many more relevant personnel. It also provides students a platform to present their research papers about journalism, mass communication, and digital media. Students have wide access to the journals and books in the library which can help them boost their knowledge and also help in research. When it comes to extracurricular activities, students can take part in the college's sports day, cultural fest Pratibha, as well as inter-collegiate fests organized by other colleges. There are a large number of student clubs on campus which also helps in social interaction and making friends.
Admission
I chose this college because of its years of experience in the field of journalism, faculty quality, brand value, and the role it plays in the industry. I was accepted in other colleges as well but opted for this as it is located in the heart of the city. As a budding journalist, it also gave me opportunities to report events that took place around the city, making it super convenient and an amazing experience. The admission process included 2 rounds of interviews. The eligibility is for all students with a bachelor's degree in journalism as well as a score above 60%.
Faculty
The faculty-to-student ratio is well planned as every subject in the course has a specific teacher with expertise. The teacher-student relationship on the campus is a very good one, and the faculty members are also approachable for queries and help. The problem-solving aspect is the most effective one. I would not like to take names, but subjects such as reporting and editing, technical writing, political communication, and advertising are subjects that have enriched my overall knowledge. In the duration of the course, every semester has about 7-8 subjects, from which a few require more improvement. In a semester there are 2 main exams, the midsemester and final exam. Before the final exams, there is viva for all the practical-based subjects as well as the final project and dissertation. The course curriculum is up-to-date and helpful once you just join the industry
Night Life
As the city is located in the heart of the city, it comes with its perks. There are a large number of hangout spots in the evening such as MG Road, Church Street, Cubbon Park, and many other restaurants. Plenty amount of gyms are available for those interested in fitness. Outside the college, there are a number of multi-cuisine restaurants that cater to all tastes, making it a good place to hangout for affordable prices.
