Course Curriculum Overview

5

The practical classes of the curriculum has influenced my decision to choose this cours, The curriculum prepares me for real world applications as It teaches us everything that be might need to for higher education or even job related skills. The suggestion to improve in the course curriculum and teaching method is that we need more one in one doubt session and although it's good that we focus on the syllabus and complete it but we often leave the areas out of the syllabus untouched. Well the timming and frequency of the exam is very appropriate and I guess it's due the frequency that most of the students already gets prepared for the end semester exam beforehand. The exams are very subjective and it's moderate, not too hard and not too easy.

Fees and Financial Aid

At Kazi Nazrul University, I pay ?3780 annually, along with an additional ?600 for subject enrollment. Other students in different programs pays around ?2700 to ?3780, depends on the course. We also receive the Swami Vivekanada Scholarship based on the merit and needs. The scholarship provides us ?12,000 per year.

Campus Life

5

Annual fest is held there is no specific name though , it ia the cultural plus technical fest and is typically held in December. The range and accessibility of books and journals available in the library is quite vast and generous. The facilities and technological provisions within the classrooms were great. Campus has offers a variety of sports such as basketball, badminton , carom ,etc. Along with other extracurricular such as art classes and dance classes, yoga classes. There are some nss groups runned by student to help poor and orphane children to achieve education

Admission

I only gave admission test in this college, as it was the closest to my home. No i didn't get rejected as I never applied although i did gave the cuet exam and i couldn't qualify. Our college's admission process is quite simple. We had to fill the online form in the college website and then check the merit list and appear in college on the day they mention for document verification . You need 50% above marks in higher secondary, there were no exam held for admission, though the 12th marks matters as the cut off is 65 above is mandatory. The overall experience was greater during the admission.

Faculty

5

The faculty is very friendly and approachable, BD maam, our HOD of computer science department is very respectful and knowledgeable person, great teaching skills. Computer science department teachers are considered to be the best faculties as we always have the higesh attendance and participation in the other curriculum held by the college. I personally didn't like Dolon maam due to her too cool, too friendly talks about personal life and her married life, although some of the students seems to like her a lot for that. We often have two end semester exam a year, and each having their own internal and external lab examinations. Overall this pattern has made us score well and is quite easy to score. The courses are very relevant to us.

Night Life

5

We have gym facilities and cafeteria although both need improvement, but no public area inside the campus to provide safety to the students, we have hostel facilities. We don't have any such famous hangout place inside the campus but students often prefer to go to junction mall near our college as a hangout place outside. We often dont prefer anyone walking around the locality at night as our college is a day/morning college and there are not many people residing near the campus.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

Placement Experience:

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.
