What Students Say
Likes
- Placement was good. There were several on-campus and off-campus interviews. The Placement cell is quite active.
- Electronics teachers were knowledgeable. They taught very well.
- Labs were well stocked. You could do your practical experiments with ease.
Dislikes
- No cultural activities. No extra-curricular activities were promoted
- Too much importance given to Academics. Less exposure as a result of this
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum needed to be more up to date. For example, they were teaching 8085 microprocessor which was an obsolete technology. Communication Engineering was bland and boring. Teaching methods could have been better. They must have encouraged us to learn and explore on our own instead of just spoon feeding. Interactive learning was missing.
Placement Experience
I had excellent placement cell in my college. Several good companies like Tech Mahindra, Mu Sigma etc. visited my campus. People were also sent to off campus interviews. I received the highest offer in my college which was 6 LPA in 2015. Average was around 3 LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is 48,000 per year excluding the semester exam fees. I got two scholarships i.e., one from Ministry of Defense for Wards of Ex-Service Men and one from Tamilnadu government for being a first graduate. So, my tutition fees was nill.
Campus Life
There were no clubs. Though there were no restrictions on boys and girls talking, the environment was quite conservative. We had very good badminton courts in our campus. Library was also decent. Student led cultural activities were not at all permitted.
Admission
I applied to S.R.M University, Vellore Institute of Technology and SASTRA University. But, these universities were costlier and far from home. So, I didn't join. My college admission took place through Anna University counselling based on my 12th Standard marks.
Faculty
Many faculties are quite knowledgeable. Especially Tapas Bapu Sir, Nagaraju Sir, Menaka ma'am, Valli ma'am were all excellent teachers. I particularly didn't like a faculty member called Gurram Susheela because she was so arrogant and had zero knowledge. Faculties are generally accessible. Exams are held weekly and monthly. They were of medium level of difficulty.
Night Life
Absolutely pathetic night life. Just go home or be in hostel. No public areas or libraries were open in nights. Even laptop was not allowed in hostel. Gym in campus was pathetic. There are no famous hangout places near the college
