What Students Say

Likes

College made a visible effort to foster diversity but the social interaction can be still increased
Extracurricular activities was adequate and Anticipation is also good
Infrastructure was good and still planning for expansion is going on

Dislikes

The college is far away from the nearest railway station
Good health services are not present in Banswara district.
Connectivity is poor and only bus service is available to reach the college premises

Curriculum is well updated with technical and management subject and the faculty is well equipped with the course knowledge and the asiignments and modules are well designed as per the University Curriculum

Internship is offered by nearby companies Rswm, Bmd, Rswm Knits, Rswm Tpp and Banswara Syntex for Electrical, Mechanical and Civil Branches, For CS Branch Infosys and Infotechs provide Internship. No stipend is provided

Placement Experience

After completeing the 5th Semester without any backlog you are eligible for the placement. Companies visited the campus was Secure meters, Infosys,Purusarthy Power System and RSWM Ltd. Pakage offered is around 4 LPA. 50% of Chances of getting placed

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees was 35000 per semester but it has been reduced to 15000 per semester and hostel fees is 60000. All Hostel aminities are provided. It has 4 branch i,e Mechanical, Electrical,Computer Science and Civil

UDAAN is the Techfest and Various Robotics and AI,ML and Data Science oriented programs are organized. GEC Banswara has a diverse Libray with Technical Journal and Magazine. E-Libraray Facility and Wifi Facility Available. E-Classrooms are available

3 Bed Occupany Rooms with Fan,Light and Wifi Facility. AC/Cooler during summers. Hostel Room costs upto 1000 with 3000 Diet for a Month. Meal Quality isw average and the facilities are as per the norms and Warden is Availabe for Management. I opted for Hostel

Admission

GEC Banswara is funded by IIT Bombay with world class engineering labs and the top notch faculty from IIT and NIT played a key role in choosing the campus. The Incampus facilities available are sufficient to manage the College life

Faculty

Every Department has around 6 Faculty i.e 1 Faculty/Subject. Curriculum is diverse and the Faculty is from IIT and NIT. Faculty motivate for preparing for competitive exams and make sure students participation is at maximum level.

Night Life

Gym, Cricket Ground and a Cafeteria is present in the campus. Campus has Boys hostel and Girls Hostel in Construction. Plaaces to visit are Maa Tripura Sundari Temple, Chacha Kota, Kagdi Pickup Weir and Hill stations

Likes

the class timings are really flexible that is maximum 5 hours in a day
there are a lot of fun events in college every other day
the male to female ratio is approx 1:1 and both genders jam well with each other

Dislikes

the money factor i would say is one thing which doesnt add up if placements are considered
the freedom provided here might not be the best for everyone u need to have self control over yourself
people here can get too entitled and the pda inside might bother you but you will find your people

Course Curriculum Overview:

the cirriculum is designed in a way such that most of the outdated and uselss things are removed this year and the labs of each subjects help you well enough to dive deeper into the application of the subject . some areas for improvement can be removing unnecessary subjects like manufacturing process for cse students . main exams are held every 3 months and the difficulty is moderate

Practical Tech Education with a Tight-Kint Community Feel

Likes

I like my hostel, accommodation is very nice
mess food is very tasty , scrumptious and homelike
the college is surrounded by greenery and breath taking nature!

Dislikes

The scorching desert heatwaves in the summer and chilling winter smog make walking across the vast, vehicle-free campus exhausting for a big chunk of the academic year.
Mandatory interdisciplinary projects and strict attendance policies leave little breathing room for students wanting to focus strictly on self-driven coding, competitive exams or independent side projects.
The campus is situated far off the highway in the industrial backdrop of Neemrana, there is virtually no social or city life right outside the gates.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is industr-aligned with strong project-based learing and a mandatory final-year internship. Exams feature well-placed mid and end terms, though early theory subjects need more practical coding.

MY IMPRESSIONS ON THE UNIVERSITY OF FUTURE

Likes

The thing I liked the most is the nature around/in the campus.
The various options for sports and other outdoor activities.
The EAT system, which is better and healthier option for ACs.

Dislikes

A few meals on the mess menu are not that good.
Lack of normal-temperature water options.

Placement Experience:

NIIT UNIVERSITY placements rates are 100% and more important is that role fitment rate is also 100%. NIIT UNIVERSITY placements starts from 7th semister with Industry practice(IP). Many big companies come for the placements.

UNI OF FUTURE

Likes

Exposure via many known guests and personalities and experts of various fees that interact and share their opinion regarding many things with students.
Many clubs like shooting ,football,chess that are taken seriously here along with facilities for each of these sports
Opportunity to become volunteer for various fests organizing groups.

Dislikes

Water here is harsh in hostel, which causes a bit of hair fall.
Except for rooms and academic blocks heat during afternoon times is great if there are no clouds sometimes. Rest of times due to many trees its cool.
Strict gatepass system which ensures security of students but at same time troublesome for those who just wanna roam .

Placement Experience:

There are many exceptions here regarding placements and employbility. For interships students mainly start from their 3rd year but i know one student which is my senior that got an intership in their second year only since they had specific skills and colledge helped developing thier leadership quality and getting them the job

The campus placements is very good and the head of placement department Dr Abhishek meel sir provide training to students about interview and how to make cv and resume for good industrial approach. The average package is 5 lpa to 8 lpa from tge campus placements program

Journey in Few Words

Likes

The place is not only promoting studies they are also promoting the Talent by organising various events where they learn and develop other skills.
The Girls to Boy ration is good - 40:60.
The campus is also fine not very premium not very bad. If you're a good place in budget constraints you can opt for this.

Dislikes

They are little focused more towards money. for example when there is attendance less than 75% still if Student pay the fees they allow him to sit in exam.
Teachers can be more better. My experience with the staff is not very amazing. A lot of time i corrected some the teachers for certain topics

Placement Experience:

- Here the placements starts in the beginning of the 4 year. Campus placements are offered and it's not bad. Even we'll get some internship opportunities in 4 year before college ends - In my year the highest package is 14LPA in Mahindra

I like my college dress structure their no any boundation
Compus of my college is good and also structure

Dislikes

Girl over boy ratio is very less which also put impact on interaction with another gender
Teaching techniques of over faculty in my college the just scroll the pdf and tell about topics
Result delay is very common problem in my college

Placement Experience:

Form 5 th semester students become eligible for compus placement. Tcs , wipro ,infosys, jk cement, wonder cement these companies visited and they provide average package 4 to 5 lack per year. Through past record highest package is around 33 lack and average package 4 to 5 lack per year Minimum percentage for Good company is 7 cgpa . My plan after getting The degree is i go for masters in technology

Likes

College infrastructure is very good as compared to other colleges
There are sports ground with good facilities
Classes are very great and seats are very comfortable

Dislikes

Overall the campus is good but is very small in size
Less events as compared to other colleges
Focuses on marks rather then practical knowledge

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is well structured and designed for students to learn the subject in detail and to know about topics in detail and make sure to understand things clearly before implementing them in real life. There are certain areas for improvement but they will keep get better. Timetable should be made such that students get break in between the classes so that they can be less exhausted throughout the day

A complete average College

Likes

Friendly Teachers - treat you warmly and respectfully.
No severe Attendance Criteria or Extra marks deduction.
Many Seminars included throughout the course.

Dislikes

Architectural issues, building without repairs and many damages, no parks or playground for sports and activities.
Damaged computers and conjusted computer labs.
Need to revise the syllabus for CSE/IT as it is not keeping up with current tech.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum includes lab works, workshops and seminars. Which influence the choice to choose the course. But they are lacking to get hands on experience. Though they are guest lectures and seminar which is highly beneficial. Need to provide report on summer internship, industrial training, which is mandatory according to curriculum. Which helps in gaining hands on real life skills. But students still pass this barrier using fake certification and copied reports. And faculty is not strict about this. I believe the latest technologies which is not integrated in curriculum like AI/ ML ,recent frameworks , even if integrated not taughtd in depth. Like we have subjects AI , ML but no practical learning. Assignment are huge burden with little learning we need assessment that tests understanding rather than memorization. More subjects needed on softs skills especially in last year during placement season. Live project with company as all student are not able to land good internships. Frequency of exams like midterm( 2 in 3-4 months) ,practical( at the end of semester just after 2 nd midterm exam). End semester exams - 10-20 days after practical exams.

An overview of MNIT

Likes

Being a Government national college, the diversity is very vast and it helps us understand about the different communities and cultures.
The college provides very educated professors who help you achieve your passion and enhance your vision. They provide information regarding the books you could refer which usually doesn’t happen in other colleges or universities.
The college assigns a group of 10 students to a particular mentor who guides you not only through technical vision but also in the mental health of the student.

Dislikes

Being a south indian, I wasn’t fluent in hindi. This made a hinderence to my study life. But the professors started explaining each class in english later on after my request
The less number of placements could be an issue
The end time for girls is 10pm which is according to me a decent timing. But I think they should atleast let the parcels come past the college main gate after 10. Because the boys can collect it from there but the girls cannot.

Placement Experience:

There are campus placements provided by the college. Students shall be adopting for placements in their final years. The visited companies are Apple, JP Morgan, Meesho, DE Shaw, Salesforce, Adobe, Airtel, Amazon, Bajaj motors and so on. Highest salary id 64LPA, average is 18.39LPA for the CSE branch. The overall percentage of students getting placed is 82% for both BTech and BArch with an average package of 13.2LPA. I shall be trying to get placed.

If you are 12th pass then you are eligible for admission and if you have done diploma then you are also eligible for admission. If you want to take admission to Government Engineering College Banswara (name has been changed to University College of Engineering Banswara) then you have to fill REAP form and your admission will be based on your JEE Mains score or 12th percentile.
