Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum like that of other DU Colleges is structured and thorough. Teachers try their best to guide students in every way possible. With inclusion of subjects like SEC, VAC , it has become more practical however these remove focus from the core subjects. Apart from that, there are a lot of learning opportunities, be it in college itself or from case competitions that happen all over DU.

Internships Opportunities

3

A variety of companies like TravClan, Urban Company, Big 4 etc come here for internship opportunities apart from the other less known companies. The stipend is not much and most are unpaid, however it depends on your competency , how much you can earn as stipend and through what pragmatic skills.

Placement Experience

4

The placement cell of the college is very much active. They also post internship opportunities which help in personality development and overall profile building. During placement season, they provide webinars on important and salient topics like resume building, aptitude preparation and inyerview preparation to help and support you during the process. We have a variety of companies visit our campus, like Big 4, Big 3 companies as well and the average package is around 8LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

For my first year, the fees was around 13,000, second year it was 16,770 and 3rd year it was 20,370. So yes, fees has increased but there has been commensurate improvements in the collge, for eg, rennovation of classrooms, blocks, the ground is under construction, the library is fully air conditioned. Overall, the affordability is high as scholarships are offered to eligible students from poor backgrounds. Given the exposure and the environment and student culture at college, its highly affordable.

Campus Life

4

There are a lot of societies here at college from dramatics to finance to dance to corporate. The overall vive is quite cheerful with these societies organising a lot of events and fun activities. Being a part of these socities helps build teamwork.

Admission

I got admission through CUET so not much was in my hands. However, it is the best college for commerce in the south campus of delhi university. The cutoff for this college was high only. I got 740/800 and still got this college. I hd no quota of course so here i am. It accepts only CUET score for admission.

Faculty

5

The faculty at SBSC is genuinely committed to teaching and guiding students. Most professors are highly qualified and bring a mix of teaching methods — from PowerPoint presentations to old-school chalk-and-board explanations. The approachable nature of many teachers stands out; they are open to clarifying doubts after class and even guiding students on internships or higher education paths. For me, the value was in their ability to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world applications, which made learning less mechanical and more interesting. The student–teacher ratio is manageable, so you never feel completely lost in the crowd. While every college has a few professors who may not click with all students, the majority at SBSC make a real effort to ensure classes are engaging and that students can actually understand and apply what they are learning.

Night Life

3

Well we have very few cafes here around college however the canteen at the college is great. We also have an evening batch at the college so around that time the campus is quite lively given classes are still held around evening time.

Students of 3rd year are eligible for the same. Mckinsey, BCG, Bain, Blackrock, Meesho etc being the most prestigious recruiters. Highest package varies, but it went around 36 L last year. Avg being around 8 L. I would say most students who apply for placements get placed, however only a few get placed in the top companies. I personally wish to pursue an MBA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Although, people say that B.Com doesn't have a great scope to it, I feel like there are many life lessons that we are taught during our college years. Since the introduction of NEP 2020, there has been a rather great emphasis on practical learning. In our college, we are asked for presentations and group projects to promote learning and communication. The presence of SEC and VAC also helps you develop your soft skills, groom your personality and live a happy and healthy life. Exams are help at the end of every semester. There are a few guides and PYQs with the help of which a student can prepare for these exams. They are relatively easy in my opinion and do not require extreme efforts. Overall, it's a great experience and a great opportunity to learn so many things.

In the context of a fictional scenario, the placement scenario would depend on the specific college within Delhi University. Some colleges have robust placement cells that facilitate campus placements with various companies. The placement scenario can vary, and it's advisable to check with the specific college for accurate and up-to-date information.

I choose b.Com because I am from a commerce background. It is an open college class held only on Sundays classrooms are good but washrooms are average. Teachers are experienced and well-educated. Exams are held on every 6 months semester wise you have to study hard to clear exams.
