- The campus is huge, green and well equipped with great central library, good laboratoried and active student club. Hostel life and campus activities under SAC made my 5 years socially engaging.
- Strong faculty with good subject knowledge and supportive mentorship. excellend library and research facilities for chemistry.
- Vibrant cultural life: college fests, clubs, sports and a healthy peer learning environment.
Dislikes
- Gender ratio is highly skewed: roughly 1:4 or 1:5
- For pure science branches placement opportunities are limited as compared to engineering students, students must put in extra efforts for industrial roles.
- Academic content for science students in bsc is not as par with with the student of other proper dedicated universities for science. when the student join in msc andthe classes are merged with int msc student the difference in knowledge can be seen.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum an definitely be improved especially the bsc part. When the msc student joined in 4th year i could feel the difference in the knowledge dept. I personally feel the practicals could be made more oreineted to the curriculum.
Internships Opportunities
My faculties helped me in getting good internship. International internship opportunities were also there. This actally helped me to increase my knowlwdge and learn new skills, I am grateful to my teachers for this.
Placement Experience
Placements are definitely there for coaching centres in my branch. Many big and reputed coaching institutions like akash, byjus etc came for recruitment. More R & D comapnis can be included. the nterview process and the packages were decent for the role offered.

Campus Life
The overall cmapus life was the best. we had so many clubs, fun activities, events, and I was partof the sports team so I travelled almost every year 2 times whichwas th ebest part and that was alos sponsored to some extent by the college.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are good. In the first to 3rd year I stayed in 3 sharing room. In my 4th and 5 th year I got a single room. ther were libraries, laundry in the hostel intself. There was hostel days were also where we celberated and had fun.
Admission
I chose this college because i always wanted to study from a reputed college like nit which has a brand value. I think my college was best in term of food hostel faclities, infracstructure. To be honest I was pretty sure I will be getting nit rourkrla afater checking the cut off and my marks in jee mains 2025 so i did not look for other colleges.
Faculty
For my branch that is chemistry the faculty to student ratio was 1:30. The faculties are very approachable and very good. They help in getting good internship and job opportunities. They also help to learn many things in their laboratories. I liked my faculty adviser Prof: RK BEHERA. I liked him because he always guided me and he was always avaialble whenever I need any guidance. He also provided me an opportunity in his lab to work with him and learn many skills which helped me further in my actual internship time. There are 2 semesters in each year. An before each semester thre is mid semster. The exam is relevant to the curriculum.
Night Life
Nightlife was awesome. it was safe and security guards always helped us. There were so many night events i enjoyed a lot and It was an awesome experience. The best thing was it was safe for girls. I have visited other colleges where 7 pm is the deadline for girls but in NIT Rourkela there was no such rule and it was completely safe.
