Course Curriculum Overview

5

i would like to say the curriculam relevance with course is good but the teaching method is very old because the same ppt method is followed instead of real world teaching which feels not good.the exam frequency is very less compared to time given to complete the semester.

Internships Opportunities

4

collages tries alot to provide internship to the student it works hard to bring companies to the university its totally upon student to crack the intership the con which i consider is the crowd which makes its hard for companies to filter out the students for placement and also lack of knowledge make it more worse.

Placement Experience

4

My overall campus life at Lovely Professional University (LPU) has been vibrant and engaging. Events like One India (January) and YouthVibe (February) add strong cultural and social exposure, while technical fests run through the academic year. The central library offers extensive books, journals, and digital resources. Smart classrooms with projectors and Wi-Fi support learning. Sports facilities, clubs, and student societies keep campus life active, inclusive, and skill-oriented.

Fees and Financial Aid

Per semester I have paid 90000/- because I opted cloud computing integrated btech cse in which by default I have taken cloud as my major which will be taught by 2 nd semester itself . If I talk about all fees then at first the main it's tution fee then it's examination fee it's taken every semester it's 4000 and there is no any other fees except hostel which is individual choice

Campus Life

5

the campus life was filled with variety and joy, there was diversity in university because we never felt alone or left out due activities being conducted in the university which maintained socialality . the dsw division of student welfare provides club where a student can find his inner talent its filled with people with uique talent.

Hostel Facilities

5

in my opinion if a student can focus in studies any atmosphere he/she can opt staying outside but in case security, atmosphere and etc hostel are best and to even travel hostels are preffred because they are close to academic blocks compared to pg its completely upon individual choice both has its pros and cons

Admission

I chose Lovely Professional University (LPU) after comparing it with several other colleges I had applied to, both private and government institutions. While making this decision, I considered multiple factors such as academics, infrastructure, placement opportunities, admission flexibility, and overall campus exposure. I had also applied to universities like Chandigarh University, Amity University, and some government engineering colleges through entrance exam–based counseling. I received confirmed admissions from LPU, Chandigarh University, and Amity University, but I was unable to secure a seat in top government colleges due to their high cutoffs and limited seats, especially for competitive branches like Computer Science. What ultimately made me choose LPU over the other colleges was the balance it offers between opportunities and accessibility. Academically, LPU provides a flexible and industry-oriented curriculum that allows students to explore specializations, electives, and skill-based courses alongside their main degree. Compared to other colleges I considered, LPU placed more emphasis on practical learning, projects, certifications, and industry exposure rather than just theoretical knowledge. This aligned well with my career goals and learning style. Infrastructure was another major factor. LPU has a massive, well-planned campus with modern classrooms, advanced laboratories, a huge central library, hostels, sports complexes, and dedicated spaces for clubs and innovation. When I compared this with other colleges, LPU clearly stood out in terms of scale and facilities, which directly impacts the student experience and learning environment. The diversity on campus is also a big advantage, as students come from different states and countries, creating a multicultural and collaborative atmosphere.

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio is very low in my opinion because lpu is crowded because there is no limitations for admissions so yeah it's a vast difference for faculty and students . But some faculty outshine with their experience and teaching methods which helps students enjoy the classroom session rather than attending lectures for attendance. Their are total 2 main exams and 2 ca exams 1 CA then after wards mid exam then again one CA at last end term examinations

Night Life

5

The night life in lpu is very cool actually till 2-3 am you can find dominos in unimall by which you can satisfy your midnight cravings too there is seprate rules for boys and girls in night to roam outside which makes everyone secure.the food stalls are accessiable till 11pm so that student have options to eat and gym stays till 11 pm in unimall same as library.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
