Course Curriculum Overview
I chose PGDM at GIBS mainly because the curriculum isn't just theory-heavy; it's designed to be practical and industry-oriented, which is exactly what I was looking for. Programs like CPMP, IRE, and BMP add a lot of value here; they push us to think beyond textbooks and apply concepts to real business situations.
Internships Opportunities
GIBS has a strong focus on internships as part of the PGDM program, and the college helps facilitate this alongside self-sourced opportunities. I'm currently doing my internship as a Market Analyst Intern in Pathfinder Value Creations Pvt Ltd.
Placement Experience
Since we are going into our 2nd year, our batch hasn't been through campus placement yet. Based on previous batch records, though, students are typically eligible for placements from the 4th trimester onwards, once internships are completed. GIBS had a strong track record, with over 200+ companies visiting campus, including names like Amazon, Accenture, Wipro, Mahindra Finance, etc. The highest package offered was around 20 LPA, and average package was around 8.3 LPA
Fees and Financial Aid
The total course fee for my PGDM program at GIBS is around 9.5 lakhs for the full 2-year course, which includes tuition fees, study material, and other academic charges. This is usually paid in yearly or semester-wise instalments rather than one lump sum, so it's manageable. As for scholarships for students who score well in entrance exams like CAT,XAT, MAT,CMAT, along with other scholarships such as academic achievements and excellence awards.
Campus Life
Campus life at GIBS is genuinely vibrant. The flagship event is TEDx, and Enchainer, a national-level management fest usually held around March. GIBS also hosts its Student of the Year event annually, which celebrates leadership, talent and student achievements with performances and proper award ceremony.
Admission
I applied to a few business schools in Bangalore while researching my PGDM options, but I chose GIBS mainly because of its practical , industry oriented curriculum and the additional programs like CPMP, IRE,BMP, which aren't commonly offerted elsewhere.
Faculty
The faculty-student relationship at GIBS is quite good; teachers are approachable and don't mind clearing doubts even after class hours. The faculty to student ration feel balanced, so we get enough individual attention, especially during presentations and case study discussions. Most professors bring mix of academic depth and industry experince, which makes classes more practical rather than just theoretical.
Interview Experience
Yes, admission to GIBS for the PGDM program involved a Statement of Purpose followed by a personal interview round. The interview was mostly conversational, focused on understanding my academic background and why I chose management as a career path, and my reason for picking GIBS specifically.
Night Life
Since I am a day scholar, I don't really have direct experience of nightlife on campus, as I had back to home before evening. From what I know, the campus facilities are like the library, cafeteria, and gym generally wind down by early morning and evening once classes are over.
