Course Curriculum Overview

4

The aspects like: we had 2 internal exams in the semester and after completing these internal exams roughly at the 5th month we had practical exam + end semester exams, these exams would be mainly theory based inclusing some conceptual based questions & based on our understanding only, we can able to write the answers. One thing, I would suggest was we shall give more weightage to the practical based learning, that too during our days we were just the beginning of AI & Iot era was effectively going on, if we had some advanced eductaion covering these aspects we would have got the opportunity to shine more in our carrers. As a student, we faced slight diffuclities and challenges matching the real-life happenings with the acdemics, that would be one of the shortcoming I can say.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, it was rs.50,000 per semester and it was upto rs.1,00,000 per year Hostel fees was rs.60,000 annually, also the caution fees was about additionaly rs.20,000. This is what I remember. Government fee concession was upto RS.15,000 \- in tuition fees. partial reduction in student fees was also given based on merit based preference.

Campus Life

5

Festival events - Ranvita & cultura(intercollege & intra college events) Library facilities - over 83,000 books and digital access to the IEEE publications, for getting more knowledge on the academics. classroom was projector based environment, with separate audio - video halls alloted based on the candidates course selection. Outdoor events & sports activities frequently conducted - like cricket(we had a huge stadium) Also, we had students club & social groups for developing leadership.

Admission

Based on my entrance excam KCET and COMEDK UGET, I applied for many top reputed organizations like - REVA, CHRIST university, but I got seat in CMR university, at that point of time. Since my cut-off score was comparatively lower to the suggested mark, I was unable to secure a seat in the Tier - 1 institutions in Karnataka, also here in CMR, they offered more freedom on choosing CBCS subjects which was more useful, to think about the future and pick the college courses. Just based on the counselling, KEA seat allotment was produced, staffs verified the rankings, KCET rank lst, and then got the final seat.

Faculty

Faculties especially were very much supportive, but I felt that the supportive staffs & entry level staffs are much dependant on the ppt presentation to convey the subject matters. The examination level was always moderate to clear, with everytime additional by-exams were conducted to help the students clearing the exam. The passing margin was 40% on all the exam papers, and the lab subjects was some how jointly dealt with one senior professor followed by the junior faculy. we had about 15 students who is mentored specially by a faculty member, also we had class incharge, who would be compulsorily handling one subject on all the semester.

Night Life

5

Th academic time was 9:00 am - 5:00 pm and after that we had the opportunity to chit-chat in the cafeterias, academic disclosues, followed by Jovial disucssions we used to have on the cafes. The hostel would be closed after 10:00 pm, and the hostle movement would be strictly monitored by the hostel wardens, as a hostellite I enjoyed my hostel life hanging out with students & earning some required humanitarian skills. we also would be wandering out the old airport road, HAL road, take some bike and simply explore the society, that too for a non-bangalorean it would be something that they might not thave dreamt of. Also our campus was 24*7 monitored by using security personnels, surveillance centers, monitoring the students moment across the entire infrastructure.

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
