Prograns, Campus and Accommodation


  • LSHTM campus is based in two main locations in Bloomsbury namely Keppel Street and Tavistock Place.
  • The building at Keppel Street was opened in 1929 by the Prince of Wales.
  • The Tavistock Place building opened in July 2010 and is the home to the Faculty of Public Health and Policy.
  • With 13 research centers and various courses available in different faculties, the university gives tremendous opportunities for applicants.
  • There are many art pieces and decorations featured at various places in the school such as the headstone at the entrance, clock piece in the library.

Housing facilities/Residence

  • The accommodation options available for students include student residence halls, private housing in London, or student home schemes.
  • Residence halls on the college have limited rooms therefore students opt for private housing which is offered through the University of London Housing Services.
  • Under the student homes scheme, students are provided homes through trusted landlords from the private sector. These properties are also managed by ULHS and students need not individually deal with landlords.
  • LSHTM student residence halls include different styles of accommodations such as suite rooms, studios, and single bedrooms.

Basic Admission Requirements

  • Standardized test scores of SAT/ ACT are not required for applying to the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
  • To apply for master’s degree applicants must have either of the following:
  • Second class honors degree in relevant subject from a UK university or equivalent.
  • Qualification relevant to the study program such as medicine, dentistry, or veterinary studies.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant subject to be studied.
  • Professional qualification related to the program to be studied.
  • English proficiency test scores – International students must submit proof of English proficiency by submitting scores of accepted language tests. Different programs have different language requirements that have been categorized into bands as given in the table below:
