- It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
- The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
- No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.
Dislikes
- The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
- The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
- Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

As per my AIEEE rank I got into NIT RKL in MME Dept. Since NIT rkl has a good reputation among Engineering colleges. Especially in odisha it is considered the best college for Engineering. I took Metallurgy and Materials Engg as my branch

Remarks:
One of the best ranked college and with very good infrastructure. I opted BTech in electrical engineering because it is one of the reputed courses in this college. This college has lush greenery and a lot of fests are held here. There are 10 hostels, 2 for girls, 1 for married students and other for boys. The mess food is good in most of the hostels. The campus has ATM facility and 4 restaurants within campus area. Also the weather in Rourkela is pretty awesome.

This is the best Technical Institute in Odisha and one of the best ( Rank 2 ) amongst all NITs in India. Architecture was my dream course and as per my rank, i have selected in round 3 of admission process in NIT ROURKELA. The best thing of my campus in the Greenery and Studious Environment. The students have full freedom inside the campus with total security.

The college is good but should increase friendly environment for the students, regarding the rules and regulations and college should listen to student voice also.

Good infrastructure & good recognition in national ranking. Good in facilities. Good in campus extra curricular activities. Good for in campus restaurant food. Good for sports activities

I am a little dissatisfied with college and need some good labs & other facilities. There are some old building which require repair. Also there should be some facilities regarding research oriented programs along with academics.

The college has got a lot of good vibes. The hostel food isn't awesome but decent.Accomodation also happens to be a tolerable offence. However transportation facilities are miserable over here. The institute location makes it accessibility poor.

No negativity.life at nitr is a dream. Not everyone gets a chance here to be a grad. It teaches life for all students who are not sure about their career. The infrastructure is superb here. Fests are super cool.

NIT Rourkela is 2nd (in NITs) and 13th ranked (overall) college in the list of Engineering institutes by NIRF rankings published by MHRD.One can here get a hell lot of opportunities in research and can also get a very decent lackage at the end of his graduation,pg or doctorate degree.

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience
- NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
- The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
- Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
- The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
- Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
- The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
- The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
- The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
- The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
- Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
- The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
