- It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
- The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
- No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.
Dislikes
- The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
- The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
- Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

Good:-
1. Placement is good compared to state govt college and private college
2. Has good world ranking.
3. 2nd NIT after nit Trichy according to MHRD ranking 4. Club culture and extra curricular activities are very good. For evey activities, we have one or more than one club.
5. Infrastructure is very good.
6. Professors are good at their research field.
7. Weekly new movie screening at?70/ticket
Bad:-
1. Some professoers are very strict and have high ego.
2. Our college has not that much facilities for sports.
3. Could have been better placement as compared to IIT.
4. Lack of industry oriented teaching.

College is great, the infrastructure provided but i strongly feel something has to be done for the mess. If we were allowed to choose our mess the food would have been better. Also the teachers need to be evaluated again. Most of the teachers fail to teach.

A good college that focuses more on academics than on other activities. Extracurricular activities are also encouraged but may be forced to take a back seat with such academic pressure. A lot of focus is on the attendance of students in class and students not attending classes regularly may face consequences.

No negative remarks. Everything is good. The campus is Second largest in the the country. Very green campus trees around everywhere
Ragging free campus. Highly qualified faculties(almost all ahve PHD in there respective fields)

As a student I can say that the attendance issues. you have to opt out 85%attendance in every semester otherwise you will get terminated. And to loose up the rules to some extent as it is getting very hectic schedule for the students. Some students don't get enough time for their meal.

Huge campus with full of greenery and having a lot of scope to have a good recognisation globally.you can explore any field here. You need to manage time between your academics and your passion.or else you will get some year backs and backlogs and they will through you from the College

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience
- NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
- The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
- Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
- The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
- Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
- The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
- The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
- The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
- The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
- Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
- The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
