Ques. What should be my preference between CSE at IIIT Guwahati and EEE at NIT Patna/Puducherry?

● Top Answer By Dishant Verma on 18 Jun 21

Ans. According to my friends at IIIT Guwahati, CSE at IIIT Guwahati is definitely a better choice. Let me provide some points which will give you a better insight into the colleges. The campus of NIT Puducherry is almost 130 km away from the city, located in a remote place known as Karaikal. This hampers placements. In NIT Puducherry, 90-95% of students are from South India. So, students from other parts of the country face a serious linguistic problem. For most North Indian Students, it is somewhat hard to sustain in the South Indian culture. IIIT Guwahati has experienced rapid growth over the last few years, which makes it a much better choice than NIT Patna/ Puducherry. There is no home state quota in IIIT Guwahati, so there is no such problem of linguistics as in NITs. In addition, there are 18 students in IIIT Guwahati who are from abroad, selected through the DASA UG scheme of 18 seats. From 2019, the B.Tech seats were increased by 33% for Girl Supernumerary Quota, because the previous batch had only 3.5% girls. The total number of seats from then is 233. Categories CSE at IIIT Guwahati Course Fee 9.05 lakh Highest CTC 21 LPA Average CTC 10-12 LPA Recruiting Companies Capgemini, Wipro, Accenture, IBM, etc. Therefore, IIIT Guwahati has a lot of advantages over NIT Patna/ Puducherry, which makes it a better choice for students in engineering.Read more

Ques. Which is better for civil engineering, IIEST Shibpur or NIT Patna?

● Top Answer By Debarati Nag on 11 Jun 21

Ans. Without a doubt, IIEST Shibpur is the definite better choice among the two institutes for Civil Engineering and is indeed one of the best Civil Engineering departments in the country. My friends who study at IIEST Shibpur boast about their college, that it is great in so many ways.  The points below state some reasons as to why -  The Civil Engineering department of IIEST Shibpur is the best department among all engineering institutes in India. IIEST is a national government-controlled institute, and its curriculum and structure are mostly managed by the central board.  In IIEST, candidates can switch departments at the end of the first year through the stream change process. For this shift, they need a good GPA score in exams. Civil Engineers of IIEST Shibpur have excelled in their field everywhere, and have excellent worldwide recognition.  Some of the alumni are among the world leaders of engineering. Ex- Dr. Fazlur Rahman Khan, who was the designer of the Willis Tower in the USA, Dr. Kajal Gupta, Chief Scientist and Technologist of NASA, USA. Categories Civil Engineering at IIEST Shibpur Course Fee 1.55 lakh Highest CTC 20 LPA Average CTC 8-12 LPA Recruiting Companies Tata Steel, Coal India, Shapoorji Pallonji, L&T, etc. Therefore, Civil Engineering in IIEST Shibpur is at its best among almost all the Civil Engineering departments in India and so is definitely a great choice.Read more

Ques. Which is better, IIIT Lucknow for CSE or NIT Patna for ECE?

● Top Answer By Anuj Singh on 10 Jun 21

Ans. I have friends studying at both IIIT Lucknow and NIT Patna, and according to their first-hand experience, IIIT Lucknow is the better choice here. Here’s what you need to know.  Curriculum: IIIT Lucknow has a great curriculumin terms of syllabus, classes, and coding culture. The competitive environment drives you to excel in every field. Facilities: You will get high-tech facilities in IIIT Lucknow designed for engineering and coding. Events like Hackathons and other tech fests are equivalent to IIIT Allahabad. Placements: My friend who completed his B.Tech from IIIT Lucknow experienced that your placement highly depends on how much you use online videos, courses to excel in your respective branch. Overall you need to be active and focus on improving your skills which might help you grab decent job packages. Moreover, the highest CTC recorded to 43 LPA while the average CTC is 18.4 LPA. Check out some of the reasons why you shouldn’t choose NIT Patna.  Poor infrastructure: Unfortunately, the institute is not making much effort to improve facilities, organizing tech events. This is because they are currently focusing on the construction of the new campus of NIT Patna at Bihta near IIT Patna which is bound to be completed by 2024. Poor accommodation: You will have to adjust to double or triple seater rooms because you won’t get a single-seater room in all of your 4 years. Also, the PG options are not good in the surrounding area. Poor mess food: Just like the infrastructure, the Hostel Mess Committee is too reluctant to improve food quality in spite of knowing everything. Also, you won’t get any good quality restaurants nearby or any online food ordered after 10 pm. Outdated curriculum: Institute is still following the old curriculum and has outdated labs. Even the Classrooms are too outdated with broken benches and no Projectors are used to teach. Lack of extracurricular: There is a lack of proper clubs, sports facilities, tech-fests, and coding culture. Overall, ECE at NIT Patna is not a good option. Go for CSE IIIT Lucknow any day for a great curriculum, great facilities, great location, and great placements. Also, the CSE branch gets you more chances of better placements in most colleges in India.Read more

Ques. Which is better for a CSE, PES University or NIT Patna?

● Top Answer By Aditya Mishra on 09 Jun 21

Ans. Though both PES University and NIT Patna don’t have a sufficient reputation in the industry, NIT Patna can be a better choice because of the NIT tag. Having friends study in both the institutes, here are some things they mentioned -  Choosing any institute, which is near to the home city, is better than choosing any of the two institutes mentioned. Both of the institutes are of below standard quality and have no reputation in the private industrial sector. This matters a lot in placement.  NIT Patna offers some amount of placement, at least better than PES University. The only reason behind the cause is the NIT tag. PES University is not at all worth considering for an engineering degree in CSE.  It even does not fulfill the criteria stated by them and is considered fraud in some reviews. Categories CSE at PES University CSE at NIT Patna Course Fee 13.21 lakh 5.70 lakh Highest CTC 40 LPA 39-40 LPA Average CTC 12 LPA 8-12 LPA So, these two institutes are not worth considering. There are several options for engineering aspirants in India like IITs, BITS, IIITs, and various other private institutes.Read more

Ques. Which NIT is better, NIT Patna or NIT Jamshedpur?

● Top Answer By Nikhil Mishra on 10 May 21

Ans. I have friends studying in NIT Jamshedpur and NIT Patna and both the institutes have good quality education. However national ranking and my friends’ experiences clearly depict that NIT Jamshedpur has an edge over the latter. Check out the following list of good reasons why you should join NIT Jamshedpur. Placements: NIT Jamshedpur has Great industrial and academic tie-up, especially with TATA. Thus you have more chances to grab great placements no matter what branch you belong to.  The average package is about 12 LPA (2020 statistics) with the major recruiters being Amazon, BPCL, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Samsung, Oracle, etc.  In 2017, two students bagged a package of 67 LPA. All in all, NIT Jamshedpur has much better placement records than most NITs. Hostels:  You will get one of the finest accommodations for Indian government colleges.  NIT Jamshedpur has built two new mega hostels having about 1500 single seated rooms in total with the facilities of lift.  These newly renovated hostels are some of the best hostels in all NITs and IITs. Clubs:  You can choose from various clubs in NIT Jamshedpur ranging from automobile to aerodynamics to quizzing.  The aerodynamics team of NIT Jamshedpur, Team Phoenix has been performing great in the International events held in USA.  Team Rays of NIT Jamshedpur which is a team that makes solar cars has won The Indo Asian Solar Challenge for two years back to back. Peers:  About the top 2% of the bright minds in the country get admission here. You will feel lucky to be amongst the great talents from all over India.  There is no 75% compulsion that gives you a lot of time for self-study.  In addition, the gender ratio is better than most NITs as well. Ragging is almost non-existent. Alumni base: NIT Jamshedpur has a huge alumni base, and most of them are successful within and outside India. Especially you will see that core branches have a notably bigger alumni network.  Overall this clearly depicts why NIT Jamshedpur is better than NT Patna. Besides the brand name of NIT, the above-mentioned reasons make NIT Jamshedpur stand out better.Read more

Remarks :

I have taken the admission in National Institute of technology Patna in civil engineering branch in 2020. I have attended all the class regular in online mode. I have to take a obc quota because for that quota number are less required than general quota so I use. I use that quota because I have take admission to that college anyway. My family condition is poor so I do hard work and get the job. In that college civil engineering branch is the oldest branch all over the branch minimum mark is not exactly it has gone up and down according to the student like general 98+ percentile obc 96+ percentile sc and st 85+ percentile or PWD student has 35+ percentile age is not limited but when you pass the 12 class after you can take only 2 years otherwise you can not attempt to jee main then you can not find the college. First, you can participate in jossa Counciling and choose some best college according to number then summit your document in college those are alloted in jossa counselling then admission confirmed.

Remarks :

I choose this college based on my preferences which may vary from person to person. NIT Patna is definitely one of the best colleges in terms of academics. Faculties are having sound knowledge of the subject. Labs are well equipped. A library consisting of all the required books. Apart from academics, it has 3 boys hostels outside the campus and a girls hostel inside the campus. First-year has a seperate boys hostel. It has a Student activity center for co-curricular activities featuring GYM, Yoga, TT court, Badminton court, Squash court, Billiards, and Music Room indoor. Outdoor basketball court, volleyball court, Football, and Cricket ground. The only drawback being campus size that is around 28 acres only. The admission process is very simple based on your JEE mains rank you can get the respective streams in the college. The counseling is done by JOSAA. There wasn't any specific reason for selecting the college it was allotted based on Mains score. But the selection was worth it.

I chose to attend this college because of the reputation of the college as well as the NIT tag of the college. The college provides good ROI and faculty is also well renowned and dedicated to teaching the students. The admission process is done through JEE mains and joint counseling process after that. Entrance exam is held in the month of April and admissions are done by the end of June. I got to know about this college from my school seniors and coaching instructors.

Remarks :

The tag of NIT and the location were 2 important reasonsNever had the interest in coding and always had an interest in electrical right from 12th class. Though NIT Patna was formed in 2004. It was Patna university from before. In 2004 there were only 3 branches which are core branches. So through students we got to know about the equipment in lab, faculty and resources for Electrical students. and thus decided that it would be better to do B.Tech in Electrical from NIT Patna. Also patna is a good place for coaching of UPSC, CAT, GATE. All these factors prompted me to get to NIT Patna

"Hard work is like a gold"

I have taken the admission in National Institute of technology Patna in civil engineering branch in 2020. I have attended all the class regular in online mode. My family condition is poor so I do hard work and get the job. "NIT Patna- The Heart of Bihar Technical institute"

The whole admission process was online due to the pandemic but generally, the process is offline. I have applied for this college because it is one of the oldest and prestigious colleges and it is also my state only. The admission is purely based on percentile system and rank obtained in jee mains. The admission process was very easy.

"Insights of NIT Patna"

Faculties are having sound knowledge of the subject. Labs are well equipped. A library consisting of all the required books. It has a Student activity center for co-curricular activities featuring GYM, Yoga, TT court, Badminton court, Squash court, Billiards, and Music Room indoor. Outdoor basketball court, volleyball court, Football, and Cricket ground. The only drawback being campus size that is a
