Ques. What would be a comparison between CSE at IIIT Delhi and IIIT Bangalore?

● Top Answer By Nehanshu Kumar on 15 Feb 21

Ans. IIIT Delhi and IIIT Bangalore both demand rigorous dedication and hard work from students in terms of their curriculum, assignments, quizzes, and coding culture.  In order to make the comparison easier, here is a comparison of the institute based on important factors, from which you can draw your conclusion. Curriculum and Relevance B>D Quality of students B>D Placements D>B Faculty B=D Alumni and Reputation B>D Research Oriented crowd B=D Coding culture B>D Campus Life D>B Practical Labs and Research Centre B>D Start-up culture B>D Seat Reservation: Explaining the above-given points further, IIIT Bangalore has no reservations and hence the crowd of students is relatively better. IIIT Delhi is required to follow the reservation system which means that they cannot select students for admissions solely based on scores obtained in JEE Mains. Placements: At IIITB, there have been nearly 10 foreign paid internships from a batch of 50 at places like MIT USA, Germany, and Australia.  The iMtech batch at IIITB is relatively new and hence IIITD has an advantage.  According to recent placement statistics, the highest CTC for MTech at IIITD and IIITB are 25 LPA and 21 LPA, respectively. Extracurriculars: IIIT Delhi has been known to organize more college fests, activities, and competitions. Start-up: IIIT Bangalore has a well-designed and fully dedicated website for start-ups along with an incubation center within the campus area. Fees:  The cumulative fees for both the institutions are nearly the same whereas the hostel and mess facilities are decent in both too. Location: While both the institutions have great infrastructure, it needs to be considered that the location of IIIT Bangalore is situated in the middle of silicon valley with head offices of many top companies which makes for an added advantage to students and helps them understand real-life working conditions better. Dr. S Sadagopan is the director of IIIT Bangalore and is one of the most respected personalities in terms of his work and experience within the IT sector. Under his guidance, the facilities and services at IIIT Bangalore are extra-ordinary. You can go through the given comparisons carefully and rank your choice based on your individual priority and requirements.Read more

Ques. Which college is better for Computer Science/ Computer Engineering in India - IIIT Delhi or NSIT?

● Top Answer By Akhil Guska on 19 Jan 21

Ans. The choice of college would focus on your desires, atmosphere, and prospects from college. I feel that you should not just go by ranking and compare the colleges on the essential criteria.  Particulars IIIT Delhi NSIT Average CTC 16.97 LPA 7.75 LPA Course Fee ? 360,000 1st Yr Fees ?1.9 Lakhs (1st Year Fees) Entrance JEE Mains followed by JAC or in some cases UCEED is followed. Entrance Based (JEE Main) Here are certain facts about both the colleges that would help you choose what is best for you as per your priorities: Faculty of Learning: IIIT Delhi is the winner among all. Ph.D. professors from the world's leading universities would teach you in this college Infrastructure: Since 2012,IIIT Delhi has enjoyed the modern comfort of the school, labs, hostels, and central air conditioning. More specifically, Wi-Fi internet service was provided by the hostel campus and college campus. Peer group: Innovative students at NSIT will be more than IIIT, based on JEE ranks. It is indicated by the cut-offs of higher-ranking students for NSIT at the end of your degree course. Extra-Curricular: NSIT has established a CS program decades back, while Delhi is the newest on IIIT and no courses intersect with other areas of engineering. Overall, NSIT is an independent university with a balanced program. The program attaches value to the viewpoint of the students. Placements: NSIT is an existing entity that does not require a student to concern himself with the positions. The key to get through depends on what you have done in four years. Placements at IIIT Delhi are not bad at all. We should not be shocked if it hits NSIT in the next four years.  Coding Culture: My brother as anIITDians always stood out when it came to the coding culture with GSoC, ACM-ICPC, etc., but NSIT’s coding culture is as good as that of IIT-D even if the hype is not much.  Another important point you must consider is that IIIT Delhi provides courses with around 50 hours a week of research, including classes. If you are a computer scientist with a passion and see yourself operating in a CS stream, then join IIT-D. However, if you wish to leave your options free, NSIT must be your choice.Read more

Ques. What should I take a CSE at IIITD or a CSE at IIT Ropar or IIT Dhanbad?

● Top Answer By Kiran Chugh on 13 Jan 21

Ans. IIT institutions will always have a better tag in terms of reputation and value of degree when it comes to choosing between any other universities. Although IIT Patna and IIT Dhanbad are fairly new branches of IIT, the services and quality of education is rapidly improving and has become almost equivalent to some of the old IIT institutes. Faculty at IIITD is much better than the IITs but one of my friends opted for IIT Patna seeing the ‘IIT’ tag. The CSE branch is constantly improving every year and choosing an IIT campus will ensure a diverse, highly academic and comparatively better peer group to be part of. The table below shows a brief overview of the institutes: Particulars  IIIT Delhi IIT Ropar IIT Dhanbad NIRF Ranking 55 22 15 Placement Percentage 98.96% 97.50% 90.23% Average Package 17.43 LPA 15.85 LPA 10 LPA Features: IIT Dhanbad and IIT Ropar offer much better campus with modern infrastructure, updated lab facilities, excellent faculty members, huge library resources, good hostel facilities and more. Student Life: IIT campuses are clearly known for conducting the best extra-curricular activities and events. They conduct cultural fests, workshops and seminars as part of the teaching module and also have multiple inter-disciplinary activities across the semester. Branches: IIT campuses offer a higher number of branch specializations and also offers programs in niche subjects, which gives students more options to choose from based on their choice of study.  The institutions are backed by research facilities to encourage students to take up research as part of their module if preferred. Placements: The placements at IIT are much more diverse in terms of number of companies and types of companies that take part.  They offer much more job opportunities with core companies within the CSE department.  Some of the top recruiters are Amazon, Capgemini and Adobe. Therefore, given a choice, students must choose to opt for an IIT campus as compared to IIITD. Delhi has an advantage due to its location but IITs surpasses all the factors.Read more

Students from all the branches, be it CS or Engineering Physics believes that Coding is the ultimate future of engineering. DCECoders is the Codechef made by DTU students. It is the best place to learn coding on campus.  IEEE, ASME, CSI, and IET to smaller organizations put effort into the coding competition. From time to time, you will have coding competitions and classes on the campus. DTU has over 50 societies that need good coders. Where you can apply your coding knowledge to real-time work. Bening situated in the capital of the country, DTU offers good exposure and opportunities. Delhi-NCR is a hub for IT companies, you may be able to get a job in NCR. The institute has a rich legacy of over 75 years. It boasts of a strong alumni network. It has a brand value similar to that of old IITs. The campus is ragging free and seniors are quite helpful. The 85% Delhi quota at the institute brings affluent crowds of Delhi to the campus. The placement process is managed by talented students of the institute. The placement at the institute is great. Even though it is an engineering college the non-technical placement rate of the institute is impressive.  Even if you realize after a few months of your course that engineering is not for you, you will still get to learn a lot from the campus culture.Read more
