Ans. The choice of college would focus on your desires, atmosphere, and prospects from college. I feel that you should not just go by ranking and compare the colleges on the essential criteria. Particulars IIIT Delhi NSIT Average CTC 16.97 LPA 7.75 LPA Course Fee ? 360,000 1st Yr Fees ?1.9 Lakhs (1st Year Fees) Entrance JEE Mains followed by JAC or in some cases UCEED is followed. Entrance Based (JEE Main) Here are certain facts about both the colleges that would help you choose what is best for you as per your priorities: Faculty of Learning: IIIT Delhi is the winner among all. Ph.D. professors from the world's leading universities would teach you in this college Infrastructure: Since 2012,IIIT Delhi has enjoyed the modern comfort of the school, labs, hostels, and central air conditioning. More specifically, Wi-Fi internet service was provided by the hostel campus and college campus. Peer group: Innovative students at NSIT will be more than IIIT, based on JEE ranks. It is indicated by the cut-offs of higher-ranking students for NSIT at the end of your degree course. Extra-Curricular: NSIT has established a CS program decades back, while Delhi is the newest on IIIT and no courses intersect with other areas of engineering. Overall, NSIT is an independent university with a balanced program. The program attaches value to the viewpoint of the students. Placements: NSIT is an existing entity that does not require a student to concern himself with the positions. The key to get through depends on what you have done in four years. Placements at IIIT Delhi are not bad at all. We should not be shocked if it hits NSIT in the next four years. Coding Culture: My brother as anIITDians always stood out when it came to the coding culture with GSoC, ACM-ICPC, etc., but NSIT’s coding culture is as good as that of IIT-D even if the hype is not much. Another important point you must consider is that IIIT Delhi provides courses with around 50 hours a week of research, including classes. If you are a computer scientist with a passion and see yourself operating in a CS stream, then join IIT-D. However, if you wish to leave your options free, NSIT must be your choice.Read more
Ans. IIT institutions will always have a better tag in terms of reputation and value of degree when it comes to choosing between any other universities. Although IIT Patna and IIT Dhanbad are fairly new branches of IIT, the services and quality of education is rapidly improving and has become almost equivalent to some of the old IIT institutes. Faculty at IIITD is much better than the IITs but one of my friends opted for IIT Patna seeing the ‘IIT’ tag. The CSE branch is constantly improving every year and choosing an IIT campus will ensure a diverse, highly academic and comparatively better peer group to be part of. The table below shows a brief overview of the institutes: Particulars IIIT Delhi IIT Ropar IIT Dhanbad NIRF Ranking 55 22 15 Placement Percentage 98.96% 97.50% 90.23% Average Package 17.43 LPA 15.85 LPA 10 LPA Features: IIT Dhanbad and IIT Ropar offer much better campus with modern infrastructure, updated lab facilities, excellent faculty members, huge library resources, good hostel facilities and more. Student Life: IIT campuses are clearly known for conducting the best extra-curricular activities and events. They conduct cultural fests, workshops and seminars as part of the teaching module and also have multiple inter-disciplinary activities across the semester. Branches: IIT campuses offer a higher number of branch specializations and also offers programs in niche subjects, which gives students more options to choose from based on their choice of study. The institutions are backed by research facilities to encourage students to take up research as part of their module if preferred. Placements: The placements at IIT are much more diverse in terms of number of companies and types of companies that take part. They offer much more job opportunities with core companies within the CSE department. Some of the top recruiters are Amazon, Capgemini and Adobe. Therefore, given a choice, students must choose to opt for an IIT campus as compared to IIITD. Delhi has an advantage due to its location but IITs surpasses all the factors.Read more
