Ques. Which is better, NIT Kurukshetra IT or NIT Jamshedpur CS?

● Top Answer By Sandip Pal on 21 Apr 21

Ans. My brother is from NIT Kurukshetra. So I am quite aware of the situation here. Let’s look at the various aspects. First and foremost, the syllabus for both CS and IT are nearly identical. The only difference is that IT focuses on software and programming, whereas CS includes some hardware courses. So, in the end, both branches are almost the same. Second, in the end, all you have to do in the industry is software-related work, whether it's main programming, maintenance, or database management. So companies generally evaluate your coding ability, implying that it doesn't matter if you're from CS, IT, or any other field. Placements: NIT Kurukshetra has an excellent placement record, with 100% placement in CS and IT. Furthermore, both CS and IT students are treated equally. Almost no company seeks only ‘CS' students. They are also given attractive salary packages. Transport facilities: It is located on the outskirts of town, so access to the railway station or the bus stand is not a problem. Kurukshetra is a small town, you may not get to see much of the city life. However, it is very close to Chandigarh. College life: College life is fantastic, but it is nearly the same everywhere. It is entirely up to you how you shape it. However, you will have numerous opportunities to demonstrate your talent in sports or other extracurricular activities. There are numerous cultural and technical societies. The institute also organizes 6–7 fests throughout the year, so you won't have time to relax or do anything else. Hostel facilities: There are three girls' hostels (one newly built with modern facilities, though I doubt you'll get it in the first year). Girls' safety is also ensured. So don't be concerned about your safety. But mess food is not very good. Finally, I recommend that you visit NIT Kurukshetra. You'll have a great time. The rest is entirely up to you.Read more

Ques. Is ECE at IIIT Allahabad worth choosing over CS at NIT Kurukshetra, Surat or Bhopal?

● Top Answer By Vidya Bhatt on 20 Apr 21

Ans. The most important aspect that a candidate needs to choose is the department or the stream of study. At the end that will matter most. If you are dedicated to the course, you will surely excel. The table below gives a brief level of comparison among the specified branches of the different institutes. Particulars ECE at IIIT Allahabad CS at NIT Kurukshetra CS at NIT Surat CS at NIT Bhopal NIRF ’20 Ranking 103 40 54 65 Overall Fees Rs. 5.4 Lakhs Rs. 5.8 Lakhs Rs. 5.47 Lakhs Rs. 5.6 Lakhs Median Salary Offered Rs. 13 LPA Rs. 12.7 LPA Rs. 6.5 LPA Rs. 6.5 LPA Key highlights: In NIT Kurukshetra, the curriculum is more like computer science and engineering, but the degree is offered in the name of computer engineering. In CE, there is more attention towards computer hardware in the syllabus, whereas in CSE, there is equal weightage of hardware and software in the syllabus. So, there is no genuine CE department in NIT Kurukshetra. Though the comparison among institutes depends on personal interest, there are factors that are compared among the institutes to make an order of preference. This order of preference is as follows. ECE at IIIT Allahabad > ECE at NIT (Kurukshetra/ Surat/ Bhopal) IT at IIIT Allahabad >> CSE at NIT (Kurukshetra/ Surat/ Bhopal) Considering the above points and the colleges’ overviews, a candidate can choose his/her preference based on personal interest.Read more

Ques. Which is better: IIT Jodhpur electrical or NIT Kurukshetra CSE?

● Top Answer By Supriya Sarkar on 19 Apr 21

Ans. The two things that help you choose between new IITs and old NITs (or top NITs) are the Tag Value and the Experience. Better Choice If you like to have a tag of IIT, then choosing IIT Jodhpur is a better option. But if you are comfortable with a good branch in top NITs, then NIT KKR is a better option for the long run, even though you have the option of IIT in your hand. The reason for choosing old NIT over new IIT is that the old NIT will have a well-established alumni base. Even the professors are skilled. Features of the institutes The placements of NIT KKR for CSE are excellent. The highest package of INR 43.31 LPA in NIT KKR went for CSE branch. Even the placement percentage are: Institute Branch Percentage Fees NIT KKR CSE 100% INR 2.27 Lakhs IIT Jodhpur Electrical 84% INR 2.82 Lakhs Overall, the choice depends upon the above-mentioned factors and the branch in which you are interested. In NIT KKR, there is a competitive environment in terms of study. CSE branch is the best to be pursued from NIT Kurukshetra.Read more

Ques. Is NIT Jamshedpur better than NIT Kurukshetra?

● Top Answer By Supriya Sarkar on 19 Apr 21

Ans. NIT Jamshedpur and NIT Kurukshetra are good colleges. The choice depends on the branch in which you have an interest, and the career goals you aspire to achieve. The decision can get influenced by your interests and where you see yourself in the future. Winning Institute Both the colleges are of national importance and are equally good. But NIT Jamshedpur has developed a long way in the last five years. In terms of the infrastructure, placements, or technology. Features of NIT Jamshedpur The institute has a decent-sized campus. It is in the vicinity of the marketplace, surrounded by greenery and security. The faculty is having years of experience, especially in the core branches like mechanical and civil. There are various clubs for every possible domain. You can participate in all the clubs, and most of them are free of cost.  The clubs include: Phocus (for photography and movie making) Literary and Debating Society Beatbreakers (for dancers) Drift Values & Ethics Club They have the best hostel facilities in the country. There are two mega-hostels with accommodation for 1500 students. Generally, students get single occupancy rooms throughout the stay, which is rare in a government hostel. The food quality is also excellent. The seniors are helpful, and you will make great friends in your college life. Also there is no ragging. The placements are also decent. The average package ranges from 12 LPA while the highest package is 30 LPA It is better to opt for NIT Jamshedpur. The institute will not only impart practical knowledge but also develop you as a person with weaved extra-curricular.Read more

Ques. Which is beter NIT Kurukshetra or MNIT Jaipur?

● Top Answer By Praver Katyal on 19 Apr 21

Ans. The preferred choice between the NIT Kurukshetra and MNIT Jaipur depends upon various factors such as faculty, fee, placement, diversity, ranking, research opportunities, infrastructure, etc. Every college is holding a specialty in a distinct branch. Below given are some factors that can assist you in landing at the right decision. Ranking: According to the NIRF Ranking of Engineering 2020, the ranks secured by the two institutes are - NIT Kurukshetra - 40 and MNIT Jaipur - 35. Fees:The fee for four years of engineering at NIT Kurukshetra is 2.27 Lakhs whereas for MNIT Jaipur, it is INR 3.79 Lakhs Placement Particulars NIT Kurukshetra MNIT Jaipur Average CTC INR 10.91 LPA INR 8.03 LPA Highest CTC INR 43.31 LPA INR 38 LPA No. of Eligible Students 640 497 No. of Students placed 423 402 Other Factors NIT Kurukshetra is well-known for its CSE, IT, and Mechanical branch. NIT Kurukshetra awards scholarships to meritorious students whereas, MNIT Jaipur gives scholarships to deserving students (economically weak). The campus infrastructure of MNIT is beautiful, but the faculty of NIT-K is better at imparting knowledge to students. In the long run, it does not matter from which college you have studied because both the colleges leave you at a similar place. It is wrong to look only for the cut-off of NIT Jaipur and conclude that it is better. Most of the students are from Kota, which raises their home state cut-off, eventually raising the overall cut-off.Read more

First of all Nit Kurukshetra is in haryana that is my home state. Civil branch of our college is one of the best in our country.there is lot to research in this college as so many new instruments are available in labs.mess food of our college is very bad and unhygienic. I cleared jee mains exam with 97.2 percentile because of my home state quota nad obc certificate I managed to get civil engineering in nit kkr. Admission process was very simple and fast also. You need to attend jossa counseling and when any seat is allotted to you, you just have to report college for accepting it with your choice.

Remarks :

I chose this college mainly on account of two reasons. One is its placement record and the second is the friendly environment. These two drove me here. I like the gymnasium, swimming pool and sports complex of the college very much.
