  • B.Sc Degree with Physics, Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Biochemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Geology, Petrochemicals, Physics and Computer Application, or Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry as the main subject with 50% marks in Part III alone or 50% in the aggregate of Parts I, II and III under the 10+2+3 pattern
  • M.Sc in Physics, Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Geology, Petrochemicals, Biochemistry, or Industrial Chemistry with 50% marks also qualifies, as does M.Sc Photonics from CUSAT or M.Sc Electronics with Physics as core or complementary
  • SC/ST candidates are eligible with pass marks in the qualifying examination. No upper age limit is prescribed for this programme.
