University of Kerala or Kerala University (KU) is a State University located in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala and was established in the year 1937. The University is approved by University Grants Commission (UGC) and is accredited ‘Grade A’ by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Kerala University undergraduate courses are offered to the candidates having passed 10+2 (Relevant Stream) from a recognized board. Admission to most of the courses will be done on the basis of scores obtained in the Entrance Exams conducted by the University whereas, admissions to few of them will be done through scores obtained in the National Level entrance exams.
Kerala University postgraduate courses are available for the candidates with Bachelor’s Degree (Relevant Field) from a recognized Institute/ University. Kerala University offers three-year full time M.Phil. program to candidates having Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field with at least 55% marks in aggregate whereas, for admission in three-year full time Ph.D. research course, candidates should hold Master’s degree/ M.Phil. in relevant field with minimum 55% marks in aggregate. Kerala University placements are offered to the deserving candidates through its central placement cell. The placement cell works with the students and recruiters in order to fulfill the requirements of both. The dedicated placement team makes sure that the candidates are well placed and the recruiters are satisfied with the candidate’s profile.
Kerala University Scholarships are offered to the candidates on basis of Merit. A total of 188 Merit Scholarships of the value of Rs. 2,500 each per annum and 169 Merit Scholarships of the value of Rs. 3,000 each per annum are awarded by the University.
Apart from above Scholarships, the University’s Department of Student Services offers Students Aid Fund Scholarship for the candidates whose annual family income is less than Rs. 25,000 p.a. The amount of such scholarship shall be Rs. 1000 for UG students and Rs. 1500 for PG Students. Candidates can apply for this scholarship through their department head or college principal.
