Choosing between colleges requires evaluating multiple factors aligned with your career goals and personal preferences.
Key comparison points:
Visit campuses, talk to current students, and review official placement reports. Your decision should balance academic quality, career prospects, and personal comfort.
Without any second thoughts, go for CSE at NIT Jalandhar. Here are some strong points to support my opinion.
Unless you are a nature lover and want a peaceful and serene experience at Hamirpur, it’s better to go to NIT Jalandhar.

First, I would like you to address your branch preference. Choosing a branch should be the top most priority. CSE and ECE are quite different from one another. Although IITs/IIITs/NITs do offer a branch change option, it is quite difficult to get it. So I would suggest you make up your mind on which branch truly interests you.
Now coming to the colleges. Choose IIIT Jabalpur for a CSE branch. This is because IIITs offer good placements, curriculum and culture in this branch. Even IIIT Kancheepuram is a good option for CSE. But the distance from home and food form an integral part of this decision-making. Assuming you aren’t from South India, the lifestyle and eating habits might be difficult to adapt to. As far as NIT Hamirpur and NIT Jalandhar are concerned, choose them if you are planning for an ECE degree. They are good colleges as well.
First prioritize your branch and then choose your college among these four. I won’t suggest you go by college rankings. Basically, choose your branch first and then decide the best college for yourself.

Both NITs, NIT Jalandhar and NIT Hamirpur have similar rankings although NIT Jalandhar has a slight advantage in terms of location. Here are the key differences between these colleges

Ultimately the final decision is your to make based on your interests and goals.

The choice of the branch is more important than choosing the institute because it determines and shapes your career. If you are interested in working in a PSU or have an interest in Electronics, choose ECE but if you have no such inclinations choose CS, the most diverse field. There are two main differences between IIITs and NITs
Based on the placement scenario and the academics, here is the preference order I would suggest you follow while making your choice
NIT Jalandhar CSE>IIIT Jabalpur CSE>NIT Raipur CSE>NIT Kurukshetra ECE>NIT Hamirpur ECE> NIT Jamshedpur ECE
It's important to note that this preference order is not based on any official data and is based on my own opinion only.

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

The faculty in each department is around 20-25. The faculty is really helpful and quite friendly to students, giving them a comfort zone to approach and talk in case of any Academic/personal issues they are facing. There is one counselling committee for student welfare, known as DSW. Students can reach out to them for guidance and support.

My journey at NITJ has been an incredible part of my personal growth and development. It has taught me to grow in various aspects, which include logic building, technical analysis, research skills, and how to collaborate with other clubs/societies. There is a technical and a cultural fest named UTKANSH Held every year, which is 3 day program, and a guest celebrity comes every year. There are a lot of cultural activities that include music, dance, modelling and even DJ. Talking about the Libraries there is 1 Big library on the campus that has thousands of books of every genre. Each year, students went for INTER-NIT sports competitions.

There is a cleaning staff for every day maintenance of hostels. The hostel provides the WIFI, Mess facilities, and friendly attendant/warden staff available 24 hoursfor students' welfare. The amount of Rs. 25000 is paid to the mess department every semester, which serves 3 meals a day. All the rooms available are non-AC but well-maintained.
