Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for internships from the 2nd year only, however, most companies prefer 3rd years for internships. Microsoft, Amazon, Goldmann Sachs etc. are the companies that recruit students with a high stipend. This year around 10000 offers have been made till November, with over 4000 offers being super dream (10 lpa+). Around 800 companies visit the college every year, most of which are tech companies and banks. The highest package offered was by Atlassian, which was around 70 LPA and the Average package is 7.5 LPA. All the eligible students from my course get placed, with half of them getting more than 1 offer. My plan is to get placed in a good product based company after passing put from the college.

Remarks:

The reason why I joined VIT is that, it has had outstanding placements in the recent years, better than other b.tech colleges (exception: Bits).Vit also has special platforms to educate you on what opportunities you could have if you wish to pursue your masters (either in India or Abroad), or want to get placed in your dream company. They also conduct frequent webinars in order to keep you updated about the things going on in different companies.Talking about the student to faculty ratio, currently there are 115 students in my batch, but that is due to online classes, as far as ive heard from the 4th year seniors, offline batches had 30 to 40 students in one class and the student to faculty ratio is just like any other pvt college.

Admission:

The students who got selected through their CAT, MAT or XAT scores were sent an e-mail regarding the PI. I gave the PI which ran for 15-20 minutes. Basic questions were asked based on my past academics, my personal life, current affairs, reasons for choosing this program etc.

Remarks:

This university is one of the best private institutions which provide more exposure as well as the best placements that the students can get. The placement cell is more active to fulfill the requirement of each student. There is no much bad aspects to specify. If you are willing to work hard, you can be the best and get good placements. Since I joined in the pandemic situation, they cancelled the VITMEE 2020 exam. However, they conducted in this year. I have applied in VIT during the month of January. The entrance exams are probably to conduct in the month of May. The classes will begin in end of July.

Placement Experience:

Placements are very good in VIT. Students get placed in the 4th year. During my last year, we had to register with Pat center of VIT, where we received mentorship and guidance for placements. Placements go on for about 3 months. In 2021 nearly 700 companies came and made around 3000 offers. The average CTC was about 8 Lakhs with the highest going for 45 Lakhs approx. I would say nearly 90% of students appearing for placements get placed generally. I myself got placed in Paypal and got a good job as a software engineer.

VIT Chennai: 1 Answered Question

Which is better in terms of 1. studies, 2. recruitments, 3. college life, and 4. exposure: Amrita, VIT Chennai or Anna University?

Simranjit Kaur
Harshu PatelStudied at Amrita University

In terms of academics, Amrita University matches the IIT syllabus and course structure. The infrastructure and laboratories are in good condition. The college works closely with businesses and other educational institutions. Many academic activities are being carried out to ensure effective information exchange.

College life is the most interesting part. Amrita University's Coimbatore campus is one of the cleanest in India and spans 500 acres. Amrita is a very diverse campus and a great place to make new friends. There is no such constraint. Cell phones are not permitted in the classroom. However, after leaving the classroom, you can talk to your loved ones. A minimum attendance requirement of 80% must be met, or you must present sufficient justification for your absence.

Amrita provides free wifi that is typically 0.5Mbps fast. Aside from YouTube, Facebook, and a few other sites, most academic content is available. Everything else is restricted. Only nutritious vegetarian food is served. The menu is adequate for a South Indian restaurant. If you are a traveler, you will have enough vacation time in Amrita to visit all of India in two years. The resident warden must grant permission for the outing. Every time a girl needs an outing pass, she must submit a fax from her parents. You can earn millions if you plan on participating in and winning every cultural event that is held there. It is an excellent world-class platform for showcasing and honing your skills.

This academic year, Atlassian is the employer with the highest salary on offer to Amrita students, with a staggering 52 lakhs offered annually. Microsoft offered 43 lakhs per year in salary, while Cisco hired 27 students at a CTC of 29.18 lakhs per year.

According to the most recent report, the highest and average compensation packages offered during the 2022 placement drive were INR 19.17 LPA and INR 6.72 LPA, respectively. Furthermore, in 2022, 93 recruiters participated in the placement process, placing 261 students in new-age job profiles. Accenture, Adobe, Infosys, EY, KPMG, and others were among Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham's top recruiters in 2022.
