I initially applied to MSU as a good backup school. Even though I got through in much better schools like North-western and UIUC, I chose MSU for a combination of 2 reasons: 1)Very generous scholarship: MSU is currently focussed on increasing south Asian presence on campus, which means they have an absurdly generous scholarship benchmarks. Many of my peers are also here on very good scholarships. 2)Great business school: The Eli Broad Business School is a top tier business school and while coming in, I was keen on doing a double major in business and engineering.

    Course Curriculum :

The course curriculum is up to date in most classes but I have seen certain classes which are slightly outdated. The academics as a whole are okay. It depends on what you want to achieve. Unlike a top tier school, you wont get the competition from your peers and the general vibe is pretty laid back. But if you are determined to work hard and learn, every possible resource under the sun made available to you. Special mention to the Business School, Physics Department and the Burgess Institute of Entrepreneurship for being the most active and resourceful departments at MSU.

The most important factor which attracted me to this university is the faculty. The professors are good and are working on various research. I am interested in economics, finance, and international trade. For this, the university offers useful resources and has good study abroad programs in multiple countries. Further, MSU has a good overall ranking, especially for business schools.

    Course Curriculum :

I think the course curriculum is updated. Most of my classes have practical approach and I am able to understand them easily. Most of the content is related to Current world scenarios which helps to understand the concepts. I plan to take up research in my next semester. The college offers some good opportunities to the students.

My professor is renowned and he was willing to take me as his student. I wanted to work in the area of road safety so this was my chance and I took it.

    Course Curriculum :

We get a lot of opportunities to work on various funded or non-funded projects that have real life implementations. Currently our team is involved in projects that are funded by various department of transportations. We try to solve real life transportation issues generally safety and operations related in transportation engineering field.

The university has variety of research equipment available, which I was interested in. It also has a really good global collaboration which provides you opportunity to network around the world.

    Course Curriculum :

MSU is pretty relaxed with courses. The good part is that you are free to take courses from any department or college at MSU to fulfil the minimum credit requirement. The courses are also very well planned which includes more of the practical aspects than only theory. Academic requirements throughout the degree program is also very well planned and it's not very hectic so that you can actually enjoy the process of learning.
