Campus and Accommodation

  • Pittsburg State University campus is located in Pittsburg, Kansas. The university is located in a distant town setting with a campus area of over 220 acres.
  • Students can practise sports and athletics at the Student Recreation Centre. Gorilla Crossing, Axe Grind and the dining halls offer affordable meals. The Bicknell Family Centre for the Arts hosts’ arts, music and theatre events throughout the year. Bus service is available within the campus.
  • Students can experience the brilliance of modern design and engineering in the university’s Kansas Technology Center, Robert W. Plaster Center, and Bicknell Family Center for the Arts.

Housing facilities/Residence

  • The institute offers traditional dormitory-style accommodation in 5 residence halls and apartment-style housing in 3 complexes. Suite-style living is available to upperclassmen in the Willard Residence Hall.

Courses

  • Pittsburg State University consists of 6 colleges which offer a range of courses for international students including around 200 programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Teh colleges forming the university include College of Arts and Science, Kelce College of Business, College of Education, College of Technology, Graduate School and Honours College.
  • Business Management, Marketing, Education, Engineering Technologies and Health Professions are some of the most popularly pursued majors at the undergraduate level in PSU.
  • The Kelce College of Business offers MBA degrees in 4 specializations- Accounting, General Administration, Human Resources and International Business. Students may choose to pursue the degree via on-campus classes or online.

  • Average GPA of entering students (undergraduate level): 3.34
  • Documents Required: Official transcripts, copy of secondary school leaving certificate, ELP Test Scores, Bank Statement, Financial Statement of Support Form, mailing address form and copy of passport.
  • Additional Requirements for graduate students: bachelor’s degree, GRE/ GMAT Scores etc.

NOTE- Applicants from India are also required to submit a non-refundable deposit of 500 USD.

Scholarships/Financial Aid for International Students

Pittsburg State University offers financial aid to its students in the form of grants, loans on-campus part-time employment and scholarships for international students to study in the USA. Many international students applying to the university are eligible for a university scholarship. International students are eligible for more than 11 scholarship programs.

Some awards available for the candidates at the institute are as follows:

  • Gorilla International Scholarship (2000 USD - 6000 USD): This scholarship is available to international students and is awarded on the basis of GPA, standardized test scores, academic/ personal achievement, financial need etc. The scholarship is renewable up to 4 years for UG students and 2 years for PG students.
  • Academic Achievement Scholarship (500 USD – 1,200 USD): This scholarship is awarded on the basis of a student’s high school GPA and ACT Scores. This scholarship is renewable for 1 year. The deadline for application is February 1.
  • Valedictorian (1,000 USD): The valedictorian scholarship is offered to applicants who have achieved 1st position in their high school class. The scholarship is awarded one time only. Applications are due by February 1.

What I like most about Pittsburg State University are the opportunities that I am getting since day one. The university also offers some of the amazing jobs and amazing classes to us. I applied to the university with the help of a common application form. It cost me $75.


Course Curriculum - 

The Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology is designed for students like me who want to pursue a career in a psychology-related field immediately after graduation. My curriculum is varied as well as interesting. As part of the course with the Psychology and Legal Issues, concentration I am being prepared for the graduate study and for the work in the legal system too.
