Students can crack UCEED 2027 in 70 days by splitting the time into four phases: 10 days of diagnosis, 25 days of concept building, 25 days of papers and mocks, and 10 days of revision, with sketching practice every single day.

  • UCEED 2027 is on 17 January 2027, and a plan that starts on 8 November 2026 gives you exactly 70 days up to 16 January 2027.
  • The paper is 300 marks in 3 hours: Part A (200 marks) is computer-based, and Part B (100 marks) is hand-drawn.
  • Part B carries about one-third of the marks, so keep roughly 30% of your daily time for sketching and design aptitude.
  • Around 55% of the UCEED questions in Part A are based on counting, Puzzles, Visualization, Mechanical, and Basic Reasoning.
  • 30% weightage is given to GK questions in Part A, 5% for Maths, and 10% for reasoning questions.
  • You are recommended to solve at least 10 questions of each type every day in the last 70 days.
  • Experts recommend solving PYQs of the last 4 years (2023-2026) of UCEED and CEED.

An expert from “PW Design & Arch” on YouTube shared a video discussing the UCEED preparation strategy for the last 70 days. You can go through the video below to check how you should plan your last 70 days for UCEED preparation.

Key Summary

  • 70 days is workable if you start now, but the plan below is a suggested schedule and not an official one, so adjust the hours to your school and board exam load.
  • Visualisation and spatial reasoning is the heaviest area in recent papers, so it gets the largest share of Part A practice.
  • Calculators are not allowed, so NAT questions require mental maths and quick formula recall.

How to Crack UCEED 2027 in 70 Days: Phase-Wise Plan

Follow four phases, and keep daily sketching going in every one of them. The dates assume Day 1 is 8 November 2026.

Phase Days and Dates Focus Target by the End
1. Diagnose Days 1 – 10 (8 – 17 Nov) Read the brochure, attempt one previous-year paper untimed, list weak areas, revise Class 8 maths basics, start daily sketching A clear list of weak topics and a formula sheet
2. Build Days 11 – 35 (18 Nov – 12 Dec) Visualisation, logical reasoning, NAT maths, observation, language; sketch objects, perspective and figures Sectional tests with steady accuracy
3. Practise Days 36 – 60 (13 Dec – 6 Jan) Previous-year papers, a full mock every 3 to 4 days, timed Part B, error analysis after each test 8 to 10 full mocks completed
4. Revise Days 61 – 70 (7 – 16 Jan) 2 to 3 mini mocks, formula revision, timed sketching, materials check Rested, with exam-day kit ready

A suggested daily routine for 5 hours: spend 1.5 hours on visualisation and observation, 1 hour on reasoning and maths, 1.5 hours on sketching and design tasks, 30 minutes on reading and language, and 30 minutes reviewing mistakes. If you can study longer, add the extra time to mocks in Phase 3.

UCEED Part A Strategy: NAT, MSQ and MCQ

Part A is 200 marks in 2 hours, which is about 2 minutes per question on average across 57 questions.

  • NAT: there is no negative marking, so attempt all 14 questions. Revise percentages, ratios, averages, algebra, geometry, mensuration, and probability, and build calculation speed without a calculator.
  • MSQ: treat each option as true or false on its own. A wrong option costs 1 mark, so leave out any option you are unsure of.
  • MCQ: a wrong answer costs 0.71 against 3 for a correct one, so attempt after eliminating options. Draw quick diagrams for direction and seating problems.
  • Visualisation: practise mental rotation, reflections, paper folding, 2D and 3D views and block problems every day, since this area has had the highest weightage in recent papers.

UCEED Part B Strategy: Sketching and Design Aptitude

Part B is 100 marks in 1 hour, and two examiners evaluate it in a double-blind process, so clear ideas and clean drawings matter more than heavy detail.

  • Sketch daily from observation: everyday objects from several angles, then boxes and cylinders in perspective, then rooms and scenes.
  • Practise human figures doing simple actions, focusing on balance and gesture and not on anatomy.
  • For design aptitude, redesign everyday products such as a school bag or study lamp, and show the user need and your solution.
  • Plan your time as 3 to 5 minutes to read both questions, about 25 minutes per question and a short final check, and practise this under a timer from Phase 3.
  • Avoid heavy shading, copied references, and unfinished drawings.

Common Mistakes to Avoid in the Last 70 Days

  • Do not leave drawing for the last week. It carries a third of the marks.
  • Do not start new topics in the last 10 days, and revise instead.
  • Do not skip mock analysis. Note whether each lost mark came from a concept gap, a calculation slip or poor time use.
  • Check eligibility early: you must have appeared for Class 12 for the first time in 2026 or 2027, and you can take UCEED for a maximum of two attempts in consecutive years.

Ques. Is 70 days enough to crack UCEED 2027?

Ans. It can be enough with focused daily practice, as Part A tests aptitude and Class 8-level maths and Part B tests drawing, but results depend on your starting level. Start by 8 November and follow the phases above.

Ques. Is there negative marking in UCEED 2027?

Ans. MCQ carries -0.71 for a wrong answer, and MSQ carries -1 in cases of an incorrect response. NAT has no negative marking.

Ques. How many attempts are allowed in UCEED?

Ans. You can take UCEED a maximum of two times, in consecutive years, and a UCEED score is valid for one year only.

Ques. Can I use a calculator in UCEED 2027?

Ans. No. Calculators and all electronic devices are prohibited, and a scribble pad is provided for rough work.
