  • The majority of programs open in the Fall (primary intake).
  • Indian applicants apply through OCAS (Ontario Colleges Application Service), the central portal used by all 24 Ontario public colleges.
  • Dates below are drawn from the official Fleming international applicants page.

Fleming’s primary intake for Indian students is September (Fall), when most programs open.

Fleming College Eligibility for Indian Students

Fleming College sets an institution-wide academic floor, and individual programs may add prerequisites like specific Class XII subjects, higher percentages, or portfolios. Below are the baseline thresholds for Indian applicants.

  • UG diplomas (recommended): Class XII at 55% from a recognised Indian board (CBSE, ICSE, state boards).
  • PG certificates: A three- or four-year Bachelor’s degree from a UGC-recognised Indian university.
  • English proficiency: IELTS 6.0 overall (no band under 5.5), TOEFL iBT 4.0, PTE 46.
  • Program prerequisites: nursing, engineering, and computer security programs need Class XII Mathematics plus Physics or Chemistry.

Fleming College IELTS Waiver for Indian Students:

Indian applicants may skip the IELTS if they completed the last three years of study in an English-medium institution and can produce a Medium of Instruction (MOI) certificate on the school’s letterhead. CBSE and ICSE Class XII certificates commonly qualify; state-board applicants should confirm with Fleming’s international team before applying.

Applicants with a completed Bachelor’s degree taught in English from an Indian university also qualify for the waiver, subject to producing an MOI letter from the institution’s registrar.

Fleming College Application Process via OCAS

Indian applicants file a single OCAS application that can list up to five program choices across Ontario colleges (maximum three per college). The steps below run sequentially, since Fleming routes international applications through OCAS rather than a direct portal.

  1. Create an OCAS account on the Ontario Colleges Application Service portal, where the 2027 cycle opened on 1 October 2026.
  2. Pay the application fee of CAD 100 (around ₹ 6,385) to OCAS via credit card, which covers up to five program choices.
  3. Upload your Class XII marksheets or Bachelor’s transcripts, English test score report, passport bio page, and program-specific documents.
  4. Rank your program choices in order of preference, since Fleming reviews the highest-ranked choice first.
  5. Submit and track application status inside OCAS. Fleming’s decision arrives by email within 4 to 6 weeks.
  6. Accept your offer through OCAS and pay the tuition deposit to Fleming to receive the Letter of Acceptance (LOA) for the study permit.

Insider note: Fleming assesses academic eligibility before English proficiency. If your Class XII or Bachelor’s is borderline, address that first, since IELTS can be resubmitted before the term start date.

Fleming College Offer Timeline and Admission Decisions

Fleming issues offers on a rolling basis after the equal consideration date. Indian applicants typically hear back within four to six weeks of submitting a complete OCAS file.

  • Offer letter: arrives by email as a Provisional Offer, conditional on final transcripts and English scores.
  • Acceptance deadline: 30 days from the offer date, or by the deposit deadline stated in the offer.
  • International students: the non-refundable tuition deposit is CAD 2,000. Fleming states that this amount applies to current academic terms.
  • Deferral: approved once, to the next available intake, if requested before the term start date. Deferrals to a third intake are not permitted.

Documents Required for Fleming College

Prepare the paperwork below before starting the OCAS application. Fleming accepts scanned PDFs at the application stage, and certified originals are requested at LOA and study permit stages.

  • Passport bio-page scan valid for at least the full duration of the program.
  • Class XII marksheet and certificate for UG diploma applicants.
  • Bachelor’s degree certificate and consolidated marksheets for PG certificate applicants.
  • English proficiency score report (IELTS, TOEFL iBT, PTE, or Duolingo) sent directly to Fleming’s OCAS code.
  • Statement of Purpose (SOP) of 500 to 800 words, program-specific.
  • Resume or CV covering academic history and any work experience.
  • Portfolio for filmmaking, photography, art, and design programs.
  • Proof of funds for Fleming’s LOA and IRCC’s study permit (bank statement or GIC).

Fleming College Acceptance Rate

Fleming College’s acceptance rate is estimated at 40 to 50% for international applicants, based on competitive-intake program patterns. The college does not publish an official institutional figure. Selectivity varies sharply by program and intake.

Which Fleming College Programs Are Hardest to Enter?

Practical Nursing, Computer Security and Investigations, Cultural Heritage Conservation, and Museum Management and Curatorship draw the largest Indian-applicant pools. These programs often close soon after the 1 February equal consideration date and rarely reopen for Fall.

Fleming College Programs with Higher Acceptance Odds

Diplomas in trades, environmental technician streams outside the Frost campus, and January or May intakes offer stronger odds for Indian applicants who apply early with a complete file.

Insider note: Fleming ranks OCAS choices in the order you list them. Always place your first preference at the top, since Fleming reviews it against seat availability before falling through to your alternates.

Fleming College’s OCAS-routed admissions favour organised Indian applicants who file by the 1 February equal consideration date. Prioritise Fall 2027 for the widest program pool, keep IELTS 6.0 as the floor, and lock the tuition deposit early to unlock LOA and PAL for the Canadian study permit.

Scholarship

  • There is no scholarship in canada. No one told us anything about that. It's not like India to get a scholarship but if we work and file a tax on the upcoming year, we might get some returns and we can mange our expenses.
  • If you file a Liberty tax, they might give you the maximum returns and charge you $70, if you are a student. But if they have a work permit than they might charge around $100.

Overview

Due to a gap of over 13 years, my options were limited, and among them, I found this program to be the most suitable though I was more keen on Saskatchewan Polytechnic. I got the offer letter after I paid the fees to Fleming College.

Overview

I chose this college as it's easy to get admission into, also the location is a premium for good exposure. Overall it's a decent experience, as I can't expect any job after this, and also there is not much diversity in a classroom, almost 90% of students are from India which is a negative point.

Scholarship

Yes, for a good score in IELTS, you will receive a scholarship of $1000.

Overview

SOP and CV, there were no interviews but only application form and my meeting the requirements of the program. It’s proximity to main city, the program length and the curriculum. I would say it was okay. Not that great but not bad either. It was hard to make friends with other cultures. It seemed bit off and didn’t find many friendly ppl except your own. It was hard to trust ppl as everyone was just after getting reference or help for jobs /money.

Scholarship

I didn’t receive any scholarship.

Overview

As I already mentioned, The campus life was full of creativity, enthusiasm and open mindset students. I learned a lot in campus activities like leadership, creativity and right execution of visualizations. Though I never had group of friends in the college as from the starting I am always independent and self learning person (no showoff), but I always enjoyed my company and learned a lot from experienced people and also I never had a second thought of connecting with different people and creating networks in college and on my jobs.

Scholarship

No, I did not get any kind of scholarship from the college.

The college is very helpful to students and address your concerns very well. My overall experience with a College was good.

Scholarship

I received $1000 scholarship because I had good grades in my graduation. I noticed we have to check their website for such things.

Well to start with I must say that when I first saw the campus infrastructure I was mesmerized. It has a huge campus which included two football grounds, sports and wellness centre and academic buildings. It also includes a large cafeteria and a pub called "Steele Center".

Fleming College offers various Nursing programs. Mature students are also eligible to apply for admission in these programs. Mature students can write the Skillsmarker to assess their eligibility for admission.

International students are required to apply for a study permit or a temporary visa which should be valid until two months after the beginning of the first semester. The application must be made via ECA.
