Ans. Mcgill University and Concordia University both are public affiliated universities and bagged #=31 and #=477 position in the QS world ranking list. As per QS and THE, the universities count among the top 25 Canadian Universities. McGill’s Finance discipline is internationally appreciated for its innovative teaching and high-quality research whereas the John Molson of Business School believes in awarding more hands-on experience to its students and in building a unique co-op program.  McGill allows its students to work and interact with people from all around the world and at the same time interact with alumni and different industry leaders to learn more about the subfields of Finance. Ans. Both Carleton and Concordia are top public universities of Canada, securing #301/400 and #201/400 rank in the domain of mechanical engineering by Academic Ranking of Universities Ranking (ARWU) 2020.  However, the program duration in both universities differs, the MEng program at Concordia University is 2 years whereas at Carleton University it's 1 year. Here’s a brief comparison of the MEng program in both universities: PARAMETERS  Concordia University  Carleton University RANK  # 201/400  #301/400 ACCEPTANCE RATE  61.80%  20% - 30% FEES CHARGED  $22676 For 2 years.  $23740 for 1 year LIVING EXPENSES  $16,0681  $13,354 AVERAGE PACKAGE  $46,475  $61,860   Concordia University students receive easy access to state of the art laboratories and research centers for a good grip and better understanding of Industrial Control, on the other hand, Carleton's MEng program focuses on building student's engineering career by the combined rigorous program along with a supportive learning environment and hands-on experience training.  Placements On the completion of the program, Concordia students get placed as Mechanical Engineers, Aerospace Engineers with an average package of $46,475 whereas Clareton students receive job opportunities as Robotic Engineer, Nanotech Engineer, etc with a median package of $61860.Read more

Ques. Which university is better for a Masters in applied computer science, the University of Concordia, or the University of Dalhousie?

    ● Top Answer By Meghdeepa Mondal on 13 Jan 21

Ans. Both the University of Concordia and University of Dalhousie are prestigious public colleges in Canada ranked at #477 and #215, respectively in the QS World Ranking List 2021. However, Masters in Applied Computer Science is a very tough course in Canada so you will need to weigh your own pros and cons. Concordia has an advantage over Dalhousie as it's placed in Montreal, which is popularly known for the Software Industry and has a lot of job opportunities. But be warned that the program here will be more difficult.  Other than that Concordia University holds brand new research laboratories and high engineering specialized IT equipment for the student's hands-on experience. Concordia's Applied Computer Science program mainly focuses on improving the theoretical and practical application skills among students.  Both universities have their own pros and cons. The ultimate decision lies in an individual's priority and choice. The table presented below provides a brief comparison of both the universities : DALHOUSIE UNIVERSITY  CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY RANK  #291 QS World University 2021 #215 Round University Ranking 2020 # 477 QS World University 2021 #578 Round University Ranking 2020 ACCEPTANCE RATE  70%  49.3% COST TO STUDY  $15692  $19856 AVERAGE PACKAGE  MBA (87,000 USD); Bachelor of Science (67,000 USD);  Bachelor of Arts (55,000 USD); BBA (43,000 USD). $84,000 On the other hand, at the University of Dalhousie students get a wide level of practice. The program is also a bit easier and has a flexible course-structure when compared to Concordia’s. Some of the major domains in Computer Science at the University of Dalhousie comprise of Visual Analytics, Human-Computer Interaction, Network, and Security, Theory, Algorithms, etc.  On completion of the program, students from Concordia University land up in many top-paying IT sectors of Canada with an average package of $ 84,000 whereas students from the University of Dalhousie get placed as Network Engineers or Application Engineers with a median package of $ 64,000.Nautel, Nova Scotia Power,Generation, IBM Canada Ltd., Government of Nova Scotia are some of the top recruiters of Dalhousie University.Read more

Ques. Which university is better for an undergraduate degree in fine arts with a biology minor, U of T, McGill, or Concordia University?

    ● Top Answer By Aniket Atul Mahulikar on 13 Jan 21

Ans. All three of these are counted among the most popular colleges in Canada. However, you can safely say Mcgill and UToronto have a better brand value due to their rankings (#25 and #31 respectively) as well as distinguished science programs. THE ranks them at #1 and #2 respectively in terms of graduate employability in Canada.  The Biology program offered by UToronto mainly emphasizes on the latest innovative edge technology and new clinical and research techniques. Whereas, Mcgill’s Biology program is purely research-based and introduces its students to the latest techniques and methodologies in the field of Biology. Students will have easy access to advanced laboratory services for more hands-on experience and research purposes.  The table below gives a detailed comparison of the three universities:  Parameters  University of Toronto  McGill University  Concordia University Ranking (QS WUR 2021) #25  #31  #477 Acceptance Rate  43%  45%  49.3% Cost to Study  $20379-47086 +$33702 (Hostel+Meal) $13470-34242+$29142 (Hostel+Meal) 13725-19856+21862 (Hostel+Meal) Placements for MS  (Average) $98,000  $100,000  $110,000   We can see that while the first two universities are pretty reputable, their acceptance rate and expenses are considerably higher than Concordia’s. Concordia University's undergraduate Biology program features Gene study, Organism physiology, Morphology, Anatomy Analysis, Cell study on the living system, and lots more.  While Concordia’s science programs are not as refined, it is also a great alternative because of its cost and placements. Overall, it depends on your personal preferences.Read more
