Rotman School of Management Acceptance Rate 2027
Rotman does not officially publish an MBA acceptance rate. Based on cohort data and applicant volume trends, the Full-Time MBA acceptance rate is estimated at 30% (estimated). Specialised master’s like the MMA are more selective at an estimated 15-20% (estimated).

Reality check: The 30% figure hides intra-round variance — R1 and R2 typically carry higher admit rates for Indian candidates than R3 or R4, when the majority of seats have already been offered.

Rotman School of Management Campus, Facilities and Student Life
Rotman occupies a purpose-built complex on the St. George campus in downtown Toronto, five minutes from Queen’s Park subway and 10 minutes from Toronto’s financial district on Bay Street.
- Location and transit: Downtown Toronto, walking distance to Bay Street financial hub; TTC subway access via St. George and Queen’s Park stations
- Housing: No guaranteed graduate housing; most students rent private apartments in the Annex, Kensington or nearby neighbourhoods at CAD 1,200-1,800 per month
- Signature facility: Financial Research and Trading Lab with Bloomberg terminals used by MFin, MFRM and MBA finance specialisations
- Indian student community: Active Indian Students Association, Diwali celebrations, and dedicated South Asian professional networking events across the year
- Student clubs: 40+ MBA clubs covering consulting, finance, tech, marketing, social impact and entrepreneurship
What Indian students say: Downtown location makes recruiting events easy to attend after class. Winter is harsh but campus buildings and PATH tunnels reduce outdoor exposure. Finding a shared rental before September saves the panic of arriving during peak lease season.

Rotman is consistently ranked #1 or #2 among Canadian MBA programs alongside Ivey Business School and Schulich School of Business.
Key insight: The QS Global MBA rank matters for Indian recruiters and immigration credentialing; Rotman’s top-100 global MBA placement makes it eligible for premier employer sponsorships and the Post-Graduation Work Permit pathway.
Rotman School of Management Placements and Career Outcomes 2027
Rotman placement outcomes are anchored by the Bay Street financial-services ecosystem and Toronto’s growing tech corridor; the school reports strong employment within 3 months of graduation across recent cohorts.
- MBA employment within 3 months: 88% (estimated) of the graduating class
- Median MBA starting salary: CAD 115,000 (INR 77.46 lakh) — market median
- Median MBA signing bonus: CAD 20,000 (INR 13.47 lakh) — market median
- Top recruiting sectors: Financial services, consulting, technology, consumer goods

Rotman School of Management vs Peer Business Schools
Rotman is benchmarked most often against Ivey Business School, Schulich School of Business, INSEAD and Booth School of Business by Indian applicants weighing Canadian and global MBA options.
| Business School | QS Global MBA 2026 | Avg Annual PG Fee (CAD) | Avg Annual PG Fee (INR lakh) | Differentiator |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rotman School of Management | #63 (estimated) | 69,570 | 46.86 lakh | Bay Street proximity, 3-year PGWP eligibility |
| Ivey Business School | #41 (estimated) | 129,500 (estimated) | 87.23 lakh (estimated) | 1-year MBA, case-method teaching |
| Schulich School of Business | #75 (estimated) | 55,000 (estimated) | 37.05 lakh (estimated) | Broader specialisation menu, lower fees |
| INSEAD | #5 (estimated) | 110,000 (estimated) | 74.10 lakh (estimated) | 10-month program, global campus rotation |
| Booth School of Business | #7 (estimated) | 82,000 USD (estimated) | 68.60 lakh (estimated) | Nobel-heavy finance faculty, US recruiting |
Rotman stands out as the highest-ranked business school inside Canada’s largest financial hub, with fees materially lower than INSEAD and Booth while retaining top-tier global recruiter access. Its 3-year PGWP window is a decisive advantage for Indian graduates targeting permanent residency.
Rotman fits Indian graduates with 2-9 years of work experience aiming at finance, consulting or tech roles in North America, with a total investment of INR 155-165 lakh recouped through a median starting salary of INR 77 lakh. The study in Canada pathway offers a 3-year work permit that materially eases return on investment.
Rotman is not the fit for candidates below 2 years of work experience (target MMgt instead), applicants prioritising a 1-year MBA structure (consider Ivey Business School), or those seeking lower total tuition (Schulich School of Business offers similar recruiting outcomes at lower cost).
Rotman School of Management FAQs
Ques. What is the application fee for the Rotman MBA?
Ans. The application fee for all Rotman MBA programs, including the Full-Time MBA, One-Year MBA and Executive MBA, is CAD 195 (approximately INR 13,135). This fee is non-refundable and paid at submission through the online application portal. Rotman does not currently publish a general fee waiver, though individual circumstances can be flagged to the admissions team for consideration before applying.
Ques. Does Rotman waive the GMAT for Indian applicants?
Ans. Rotman does not offer a blanket GMAT or GRE waiver for the Full-Time MBA. Some candidates with strong quant profiles, CFA credentials or professional exam backgrounds have historically requested a waiver on a case-by-case basis. The MMgt program is the primary pathway for Indian applicants without a test score, targeting non-business undergraduates with limited work experience.
Ques. Can Rotman MBA students work part-time in Canada?
Ans. Indian students on a Canadian study permit at Rotman may work up to 24 hours per week off-campus during academic sessions and full-time during scheduled breaks. On-campus work is unrestricted. The MBA internship between year 1 and year 2 counts as authorised work under the study permit and is a core recruiting channel for full-time offers.
Ques. What documents does Rotman require for credential verification?
Ans. Indian applicants upload scanned bachelor’s transcripts and degree certificates at application, along with mark sheets translated to English if required. Rotman does not mandate WES evaluation upfront but reserves the right to request it before admission decisions. Successful admits submit sealed official transcripts and degree certificates directly from the issuing university before enrolment.
Ques. How does the Rotman MBA interview work for Indian candidates?
Ans. Rotman MBA interviews are conducted by invitation only after application review. Indian candidates typically interview virtually with an admissions officer or alumni, covering career goals, leadership stories and program fit. Interviews last 30-45 minutes and are behavioural rather than technical. Preparation with structured leadership examples and clear post-MBA plans drives strong outcomes.
Ques. Which Indian banks fund the Rotman MBA?
Ans. Rotman appears on the approved lists of most major Indian education loan providers, including HDFC Credila, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Avanse and Auxilo. Full-Time MBA loans of INR 60-90 lakh are commonly sanctioned against collateral or with a strong co-applicant. Public-sector banks like SBI also fund Rotman under the SBI Global Ed-Vantage scheme with lower interest rates for collateral-backed loans.
Ques. Is a dependent visa allowed for Rotman MBA students?
Ans. Spouses of Rotman MBA students on a valid study permit can apply for an open work permit that allows full-time employment in Canada during the MBA. Dependent children can apply for study permits for Canadian schools. Applicants must submit relationship proof, financial evidence and dependent application forms alongside or after the primary study permit application.
Ques. What English test waivers does Rotman accept?
Ans. Rotman waives IELTS or TOEFL for applicants whose prior degree was completed at a recognised English-language university where English was the primary medium of instruction. Indian applicants from English-medium bachelor’s programs at recognised universities can request the waiver by submitting a medium-of-instruction certificate. The waiver is discretionary and reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the admissions committee.

- The school offers Diverse electives
- The cohort is enriched with diverse backgrounds and incredible people
- The professors are incredibly supportive and the teaching methods and very stimulating
Dislikes
- The term structure where you have new subjects each term
- The pace of teaching can be quite difficult to deal with, especially as an international student
- The events and case comps clash with exam times
Campus Life
- The college is filled with fun activities that one could think of.
- Each club makes an effort to create a homely and fun atmosphere for its members.
- If you join certain clubs, you would enjoy extra curricular activities more whereas some other clubs are more case comp focused. So depending on what you prefer you could prioritise time between these two types of clubs.
Fees
- Tuition fees: 110,000$ (without scholarship) to be paid half-yearly
- Monthly expenses: 1400 - Rent (Utilities included)
- 500- Food expenses
- 100- Miscellaneous
- If you live within the campus things are incredibly easy as well as cheaper however accommodation on campus is the first to fill out so you need to apply as soon as possible.
- Food expenses are something that may be personal to people, mine comes to 500 and 100 would be any clothing or event you'd like to buy or go to.

Overview
After my business experience I wanted to get a formal business education in a global school. Rotman is the best in Canada, and Canada is a good country to be in.
