The publicly funded comprehensive community college, Northern Lakes College, is situated in Northern Alberta, Canada. The courses offered are under the heads of – Academic Upgrading, Business and Administrative Studies, Health Careers, University Studies, Trades and Resource Technology and Human Service Careers.

  • The courses are delivered to students in three terms.
  • International students must arrange for their student visa or study permit for admission to a course of duration longer than six months.
  • International students whose first language is not English are required to meet the English language proficiency requirements.

Northern Lakes College International Admission

International students can apply for Northern Lakes College program’s admission through “Apply Alberta” application portal.

International Students Admission Requirements

Students who wish to get admitted into Northern Lakes College are required to fulfil the following admission requirements.

  • Age of 17 years or above
  • Documentation or list of high schools and post-secondary institutions attended including the dates attended and degrees/diplomas earned
  • Official transcripts forwarded to an approved assessment body for the assessment

Immigration Requirements for International Students

Students admitted in a program of duration longer than six months at Northern Lakes College are required to apply for a study permit.

Requirements for study permit application:

  • Letter of Acceptance from Norquest College
  • Northern Lakes College’s Designated Learning Institute (DLI) number
  • An application fee of $150 CAD
  • Current passport or travel document
  • Evidence of financial support

English Language Requirements for International Students

International students are required to submit the scores of any one of the following tests to support their English Proficiency:

Northern Lakes College Programs Admission

The Northern Lakes College offers certificate programs, individual courses and dual credit courses. Business and Administrative programs are offered in Accounting, Human Resource Management and Office Administration.

For detailed information, students are advised to contact the Course In-charges or Head of the Office administration. Students are required to have health care insurance during their stay in Canada. After the issuance of a conditional acceptance letter, a non-refundable tuition deposit fee of $200 is to be made. The student residences are available at Grouard, Slave Lake and Peace river campuses.
