I chose PGDM in marketing because it is one domain that is quite dynamic and XISS is a good college to choose for this program. There are 60 students in a batch and the faculties are quite educated from top notch B- schools and experienced. There are 6 trimesters in the entire program and the exams were quite timely and provided the students to implement their knowledge and skills gained in the classroom.
The fee structure the program I opted for is 9 lakh for two years excluding hostel or mess charges. Furthermore, our college has scholarship provision for those working in TATA steel, Maruti, NTPC and other corporate houses. However, I did not get any scholarship as I don't fulfil any criteria but apart from the college scholarship, the state government also provide the same to those belonging to SC and ST category. Moreover, our college provide bank loans to the financially weak students.
The course curriculum focuses on imparting the managerial, decision making, analytical, and communication skills to us. And the most important part of the course curriculum is summer internship which is for 6-8 weeks. Besides, rural camps are organized and several projects are given to us. We also do case study analysis. Apart from this, we have core faculties and visiting faculties as well in our department holding PhD, M.Phil degrees. Also they have experience of various industries which are implemented in learning methodology and so they helps us in knowing comprehensively about the corporate world.
To study PGDM program at XISS Ranchi, cost me around INR 8 lacs which includes 2-year tuition fee and other deposits. The institute offers financial support and scholarships to needy and deserving ones on the basis of merit and eligibility.
The program helped me acquire practical knowledge and requisite skills to be effective in our profession. Stress is laid on the development of dynamic personality by nurturing our values and attitudes built on the firm edifice of keen social-awareness. In order to prepare us, our faculty members give us challenging tasks and equips us with knowledge, skills and values.
At our time it was feasible i. e upto 400000 total fee. But now I heard it has doubled its fee. So thats unfair. As I have taken an educational loan from UBI thats why my payment mode was through the demand drafts or cheques only. Yes the college used to provide full transparency in mode or payments and they issues the fee receipt also after every payment.
Very relevant. After 2 years of any course of XISS, a person becomes self dependent, confident and ready made for the market and for getting a desirable job. At the time of enterance I was so afraid of GD and PI. After passing out from this institution all my fear was out.
Course curriculum at xiss is updated. Rural camps are the best part of this two-year course which gives the students a chance to get acquainted with the rural parts of India. It is practical exposure divided into 4 parts of ten days each which are intended to make the students survey the village with the traditional and modern mean, identify areas which need attention and prepare a project to address them. All of this is done in a participatory manner where the stick is handed to the villagers.
The course curriculum was totally updated according to the present requirements,eg: business Analytics, spss and every modern subject was included in our syllabus, right from presentation to everything. We were provided with Rural visit exposure, Industrial visit exposure. Every faculty was excellent and Dr. Pinaki ghosh was excellent in Marketing Department
It's is quite feasible which is 8lacks but that is not enough, there are alot of hidden fee like 8k for college uniform, celebration fee, rural visit fee, industrial visit fee, etc. Which charges around 10-11lacks for the span of two years. And the college doesn't show transparency in fee structure.
It is very relevant, the two year has been divided into 6 trimester and all of them have 2 internal test for each paper apart from external one, which is quite fair in order to understand the subject.there are two industrial visit organized for both the years.
Very feasible. The college takes the fees through online means only. The fees is 8. 38 lakhs. The payment is nowadays done through an Enterprise Resource Portal. There are nominal additional charges for uniform, Rural retreat and Industrial visits - which include both the small Industrial visits and the pan Indian industrial visit.
The course needs to be updated according to the industry standards. It also needs update the curriculum and the approach of teaching and learning. Given Covid19 situation, the means to disseminate education has to be reviewed and resolved as well. Studio rooms need to be put in place to provide the students with online classes rather than requiring them to come to campus for physical classes.
Fee structure is quite good and an be affordable. Mode of payment is online, draft, upi and other. No additional fee is charge for admission it is included in the fee structure. Duration of payment is per trimester. For all the department fees are same.
Yes the courses are more based on practical and theoretical. Live projects are also offered by many companies. I did in amul and colgate palmolive live project it was a great opportunity and good learning experience placements is also good exams are based on trimesters. Divided into 50-50 ( internal and end term) internal is based on ppt and assignment and exams depend upon the proffesor Over all college is good.
The fee is designed in such a manner that if one is looking in terms of ROI this is the best choice to go with. The tution fees for the year 2018-20 is near about 8lpa and un addition to this you have to pay hostel fees near about 12000 for 6 months, that may vary as per the rooms like for 4 seater room it might be little less than 1 seater room. Apart from this you need to pay for mess monthly which is approximately 3000. Apart from this you have to pay for IV tour nearvabout 20k. So overall it best in terms of ROI.
Being a hour student i am preety much satisfied with the course ciricullam of my stream, since hour of this college is known for its firm and strong holiding in Labour Laws concepts, the course ciricullam does the complete justification, apart from this you also have certain subjects that are related to understanding the societal structure and also giving one opportunity of practical expisure to deal with humans and understanding their human behaviors and psychology by a subject called social field work, which turns individual to be empathetic in most situations rather than sympathetic. Apart from this you will also get the chance to visit companies during the Industrial Visit in which you can get the practical exposure and get the chance to interact with corporates from various domains. Talking about exams structure, over here you have a trimester system and in 1 year you have to study all the mgmt related subjects being offered by the college but in second year you can go for electives and get your own tailored made ciricullam for yourself, it's just that you have to maintain certain credits each trimester wise, so you have to select subjects accordingly.

Firstly there is a minimum cut-off based on which the candidate will get a call if shortlisted for the GD. Followed by the GD there will be PI for the shortlisted students. GD/ PI are held at different location across India. So it is quite convenient for the candidates to attend the selection process. After the PI the shortlisted students will be informed of the admission process.by Swati Sharma
All because of placement record, good infrastructure, and previous academics, I decided to opt for PGDM in Marketing program. And the admission process of this college follows several steps like I filled to application form and paid the application fee. And the. Based on the marks obtained in undergraduate and CAT exam, I was called for final admission round which was GD and PI rounds. Post completion, the final merit list was prepared in which my scores and performance was considered. And lastly, I saw my name in the list and took admission by paying the fee.by Gouri Gogoi
