Around 10% students gets job after completing the course. All others went for a higher education to reputed foreign universities or India Universities. All of them get scholarship from their respective universities. This year Dr.reddy lab came for the placement and offer job to 2 students from chemistry department with a handsome package.
I worked for Meritnation.
IISER Mohali doesn't have a well established placement cell so no big companies visit IISER Mohali for placements. Though I remember a company (Dr. Reddy) that visited last year and select only 2 students for the job but they didn't accept the offer.
Mainly this college is not established to provide placements to students. It's main motive is to promote research in our country. Most of the students after completing their 5 year degree opt for higher studies but some students who want to job after their 5 year degree they mainly go on teaching line.
I have done one YouTube marketing internship under Intellify company
There is no ecell in IISER Mohali. If students are intersted in doing job after their bs-ms then they have to apply for jobs by themselves. Students have to approach companies and industries by themselves if they want to do job. Administration doesn't support this (major drawback of IISER Mohali).
The only place where IISER Mohali is lagging behind is in terms of placement as IISER Mohali doesn't offer technical courses so direct placements to companies is not possible the only sector in companies where students can go for is Research and Development Department.
Job opportunities for students are lot after their BS-MS. Students go for Phds, government jobs like for UPSC, teaching post, lecturers, industrial jobs and some also go for MBA after their MS but IISER Mohali doesnot have any placement cell in the college.
IISER Mohali doesn't have any placement cell but there is an Ecell in the college which supports young enterpreneurs of college. It is a research institute so getting job after just MS is not favoured by students, but some students go for jobs in government sector but majority of one go for phds.
There are a lot of alumini from IISER Mohali on various posts and in various foreign and Indian Universities on the post of professor or doing Phd or postdoc etc. IISER Mohali doesn't have any placement cell in the college (major drawback)
The drawback of any research institute is that they are unable to offer direct placements to students and this is due to not offering technical courses to students. There is no placement cell in the college. There is one Ecell in the college.
If you are coming here in IISER Mohali for direct placement from the campus like other IITs college offered then this is the wrong choice as IISER is a basic scienece research institute here students are motivated to do Phd after their BS-MS.
