The AIAPGET 2026 (All India Ayush Post Graduate Entrance Test) was conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on 22 August 2026 on behalf of the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. NTA declared the AIAPGET 2026 result on 18 September 2026, with more than 27,700 candidates qualifying out of 49,864 who appeared across Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Unani, and Siddha streams. For all qualified candidates, the next critical step is AACCC (Ayush Admissions Central Counselling Committee) counselling for approximately 2,274 AYUSH PG seats — the dates are expected to be announced on aaccc.gov.in shortly.

  • Counselling Registration: AACCC AIAPGET 2026 PG counselling registration is expected to begin by mid-to-late October 2026. In 2025, Round 1 counselling started shortly after results were declared, with Round 3 (stray vacancy) running through early November 2025.
  • Seat Allotment: AACCC will allot 2,274 seats across MD/MS/PG Diploma courses in Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy. Candidates must register on aaccc.gov.in, fill in choices, and lock them before the deadline to be considered for Round 1 allotment.
  • Stray Vacancy Round: After two regular rounds, AACCC runs a stray vacancy round for unfilled seats. In 2025, the stray round registration deadline was 3 November 2025. Expect a similar timeline in 2026 — by mid-November.
  • Reporting Deadline: After each allotment round, candidates must report to their allotted institute within the specified window — typically 3–5 days from allotment. Missing the reporting deadline forfeits the allotted seat and candidature for that round.

What is AIAPGET 2026?

The All India Ayush Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET) is a national-level entrance exam for admission to MD and MS postgraduate programmes in Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Siddha, and Unani systems of traditional medicine. The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts AIAPGET every year on behalf of the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. The exam is held once annually, usually in July or August, and the counselling for seat allotment is managed by the Ayush Admissions Central Counselling Committee (AACCC).

AIAPGET is the single national gateway for AYUSH PG admissions. It is not a common paper — each AYUSH stream (Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Siddha, Unani) has its own separate question paper based on the respective UG curriculum. If you hold a BAMS degree, you appear for the Ayurveda paper; BHMS graduates take the Homoeopathy paper, and so on.

In 2026, 49,864 candidates appeared for the exam — a significant increase from 42,075 in 2025, representing about 18% growth in one year. Yet the total available PG seats remain around 2,274, which means competition is intense: roughly 22 qualified candidates compete for each seat on average. This makes a strong rank in your stream crucial for getting into a top national AYUSH institute.

AIAPGET 2026 Result

NTA declared the AIAPGET 2026 result on 18 September 2026 on the official website. A total of 49,864 candidates appeared for the exam across four AYUSH streams, and more than 27,700 qualified. Candidates can check their result and download their scorecard at exams.nta.nic.in/AIAPGET by logging in with their application number and date of birth.

The scorecard shows your roll number, application number, name, stream, raw marks obtained, percentile, and qualifying status. Only candidates who meet the minimum qualifying percentile for their category are eligible to register for AACCC counselling. Below is the stream-wise breakdown of qualified candidates in 2026:

Stream Candidates Qualified (2026)
Ayurveda ~19,920
Homoeopathy ~5,934
Unani ~1,425
Siddha ~432
Total Qualified 27,700+
Total Appeared (2026) 49,864
Total Appeared (2025 — for reference) 42,075

Ayurveda remains by far the largest stream — nearly 72% of all qualified candidates in 2026 are from Ayurveda. Siddha has the smallest candidate pool with only 432 qualified candidates, reflecting the smaller base of Siddha graduates in the country. If you qualified, check your scorecard carefully to confirm your stream, marks, and percentile before counselling registration opens. Any discrepancy should be raised with NTA before the counselling deadline.

AIAPGET 2026 Cutoff

The AIAPGET 2026 cutoff is percentile-based, not mark-based. NTA uses the percentile system so that the qualifying threshold adjusts fairly regardless of whether a particular year’s paper was tougher or easier. A candidate who scores at or above the qualifying percentile for their category is declared qualified and can register for AACCC counselling.

AIAPGET 2026 Qualifying Percentile by Category

Category Qualifying Percentile
General (UR) / EWS 50th Percentile
OBC-NCL / SC / ST 40th Percentile
UR / EWS – PwBD 45th Percentile
OBC-NCL-PwBD / SC-PwBD / ST-PwBD 40th Percentile

AIAPGET Minimum Qualifying Marks Trend — Ayurveda Stream

The percentile threshold stays fixed across years, but the raw mark that corresponds to that percentile changes each year depending on paper difficulty and overall candidate performance. For the Ayurveda stream, here is how the minimum qualifying marks have shifted across cycles:

Category 2026 Min. Qualifying Marks 2025 Min. Qualifying Marks 2024 Min. Qualifying Marks
UR / EWS 115 101 123
OBC-NCL / SC / ST 97 ~85 ~101

Note: 2025 OBC/SC/ST minimum marks are approximate based on available information. Minimum qualifying marks for Homoeopathy, Siddha, and Unani streams follow the same percentile thresholds but differ in raw marks — check the official result PDF for stream-specific cutoff details.

The 2026 Ayurveda cutoff (115 marks for UR/EWS) is higher than 2025 (101 marks) but lower than 2024 (123 marks). A higher cutoff compared to 2025 suggests the 2026 paper was slightly more accessible for the overall candidate pool. However, meeting the cutoff is only the first step — what determines seat allotment in counselling is your rank relative to others in your stream, not just whether you qualified.

AIAPGET 2026 Marks vs Rank

Your AIAPGET rank is the deciding factor in AACCC counselling — it determines which institutes and PG specialisations you can access. NTA prepares a separate merit list for each AYUSH stream. Your Ayurveda rank does not compare against Homoeopathy candidates, and vice versa. With the 2026 Ayurveda topper scoring 390/480 and the minimum qualifying mark at 115/480, the rank bands below give you a sense of where your marks place you nationally in Ayurveda.

Marks Range (out of 480) Indicative Rank Band (Ayurveda) Likely Counselling Outcome
360 – 480 (75%+) Rank 1 – 100 Top national institutes (AIIA, NIA, ITRA) — choice of top specialisations
280 – 359 (58–74%) Rank 101 – 500 Good government and national institutes; most specialisations available
200 – 279 (42–58%) Rank 501 – 2,000 Government colleges; some limitations on specialisation choice
150 – 199 (31–41%) Rank 2,001 – 6,000 Aided and university colleges; fewer first-choice options
115 – 149 (24–31%) Rank 6,001 – 19,920 Minimum qualifying range (UR/EWS); limited seat availability at this rank
97 – 114 Reserved category qualifying range OBC/SC/ST candidates eligible; subject to category-specific seat availability

These rank bands are indicative for the 2026 Ayurveda stream. Homoeopathy, Siddha, and Unani have separate rank lists — topper marks in 2026 were 417 (Homoeopathy), 359 (Unani), and 319 (Siddha). Actual rank-to-college allotment data will only be available after AACCC counselling rounds are completed and the seat allotment results are published.

If you scored above 280 marks in Ayurveda, you are in a strong position for top institute choices. Marks between 150 and 280 will still give you multiple government college options if you are flexible on specialisation and location. Homoeopathy candidates should note that the topper scored 417/480, meaning competition at the top is very high — even a score of 300+ could place you in a good rank band in that stream.

AIAPGET 2026 Toppers

NTA released the AIAPGET 2026 toppers list along with the result on 18 September 2026. Since each stream has a completely separate rank list, there are four toppers — one for each AYUSH stream. The topper marks range from 319 out of 480 in Siddha to 417 out of 480 in Homoeopathy, reflecting the different syllabus scopes and candidate pools across streams.

Stream Topper Name Marks (out of 480) Percentile
Ayurveda Vinod Ayyamolia 390 99.9972097
Homoeopathy Akshaya 417 99.9906042
Siddha Annaimary A 319 99.8637602
Unani Abdul Moghni 359 99.9622499

Homoeopathy topper Akshaya scored 417 out of 480 — roughly 86.9% accuracy across 120 questions, requiring approximately 103–104 correct answers with very few errors. This level of mastery across Materia Medica, Organon, Pathology, and Practice of Medicine is exceptional.

In Ayurveda, the vast and multi-subject syllabus spanning 15+ subjects made 390 out of 480 — roughly 97–98 correct answers — the highest nationally. The Siddha topper’s score of 319 is lower in absolute terms but represents peak performance within the Tamil medicine curriculum and a smaller but intense candidate pool of 432 qualifiers. Candidates can use these topper marks as benchmarks to calibrate their own preparation targets for future attempts.

AIAPGET 2026 Counselling

The AIAPGET 2026 counselling is conducted by the Ayush Admissions Central Counselling Committee (AACCC) at aaccc.gov.in. AACCC manages admission to All India Quota (AIQ) seats in AYUSH PG programmes across government, government-aided, national institutes, central universities, and deemed universities. Approximately 2,274 MD/MS/PG Diploma seats in Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy are available through this centralised process.

The AACCC counselling schedule for 2026 had not been officially released as of early October 2026. Based on the 2025 cycle — where Round 1 started within a few weeks of result declaration — Round 1 for 2026 is expected in mid-to-late October 2026. Watch aaccc.gov.in for the official schedule.

AIAPGET 2026 Counselling — Step-by-Step Process

Step Activity
1 Register on aaccc.gov.in using your AIAPGET 2026 roll number and scorecard details; pay the counselling registration fee
2 Download and review the AACCC 2026 seat matrix — lists all available institutes, courses, and seat counts by category
3 Fill in your choices of institutes and specialisations in order of preference during the choice-filling window
4 Lock your choices before the deadline — choices cannot be changed after locking
5 AACCC processes seat allotment based on your rank, category, and locked choices
6 Download provisional allotment letter from aaccc.gov.in
7 Report to allotted institute with all original documents within the reporting window (usually 3–5 days after allotment)
8 Participate in Round 2 to upgrade your seat (if allotted in Round 1) or secure a fresh allotment (if not allotted in Round 1)
9 Stray vacancy round for remaining unfilled seats after Round 2 — candidates can register fresh or carry forward previous registration

AACCC typically runs two full rounds plus one stray vacancy round. In 2025, the stray round registration deadline was 3 November 2025 and it ran through mid-November. You should plan your schedule around the possibility of all three rounds.

Documents Required for AIAPGET 2026 Counselling

  • AIAPGET 2026 scorecard and rank card
  • Class 10 certificate (for date of birth proof)
  • BAMS / BHMS / BSMS / BUMS degree certificate and all year mark sheets
  • Internship completion certificate
  • CCIM / CCH / state board registration certificate
  • Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS, as applicable) issued by a competent authority
  • PwBD certificate from a government medical board (if applicable)
  • Passport-size photographs (recent)
  • Government-issued photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, or Passport)

Candidates who miss the Round 1 registration window can still participate in Round 2 or the stray vacancy round — but seat availability decreases with each successive round, so register as early as possible once the schedule is released.

AIAPGET 2026 Exam Pattern

AIAPGET 2026 was conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT). There are four separate question papers — one for each AYUSH stream. All papers share the same structure: 120 multiple choice questions (MCQs), 480 total marks, and 2 hours duration. There is negative marking for incorrect answers.

AIAPGET 2026 Exam Pattern at a Glance

Particulars Details

Understanding the AIAPGET Marking Scheme

With 120 questions and 120 minutes, you get exactly 1 minute per question. The –1 negative marking for wrong answers means random guessing is not a smart strategy. An unattempted question costs you nothing — a wrong one costs you 1 mark plus the 4 marks you could have scored.

Here is a practical example: if you attempt 100 questions, get 85 correct and 15 wrong, your score = (85 × 4) – (15 × 1) = 340 – 15 = 325 marks. Compare this with attempting all 120 at 80% accuracy: 96 correct, 24 wrong = 384 – 24 = 360 marks. The higher-attempt, higher-accuracy strategy wins. The takeaway: accuracy matters most, and you should skip questions where you genuinely cannot eliminate at least two wrong options.

In Ayurveda, classical subjects like Charak Samhita, Dravyaguna Vigyan, and Kayachikitsa typically carry a higher question share. In Homoeopathy, Materia Medica and Organon of Medicine are the most heavily weighted subjects. Siddha and Unani papers are similarly concentrated on core clinical and pharmaceutical subjects from their respective curricula.

AIAPGET 2026 Syllabus

The AIAPGET 2026 syllabus is prescribed by NTA on behalf of the Ministry of AYUSH. It covers the complete undergraduate AYUSH curriculum as defined by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) for Ayurveda, Unani, and Siddha, and by the National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH) for Homoeopathy. There is no shared syllabus between streams — each paper tests only the subjects of that system of medicine.

The total syllabus span is large. For Ayurveda alone, there are 15+ distinct subjects across the five years of BAMS. Candidates often find it helpful to prioritise high-weightage subjects (based on previous year paper analysis) while still ensuring adequate coverage across all subject areas.

Ayurveda (BAMS) Syllabus

The Ayurveda paper covers all subjects taught across the five years of BAMS:

  • Rachana Sharir — Anatomy from an Ayurvedic perspective; body structures and marma points
  • Kriya Sharir — Physiology; Ayurvedic understanding of bodily functions and the tridosha framework
  • Dravyaguna Vigyan — Materia Medica and Pharmacology; properties, actions, and therapeutic uses of medicinal plants
  • Rasa Shastra & Bhaishajya Kalpana — Pharmaceutics and Iatrochemistry; preparation of Ayurvedic formulations
  • Rog Nidan — Pathology and Ayurvedic Diagnosis; disease classification and diagnostic frameworks
  • Charak Samhita — Classical text; Samhita-based foundational principles and clinical concepts
  • Kayachikitsa — Internal Medicine; Ayurvedic management of major diseases
  • Panchakarma — Detoxification and bio-purification; Vamana, Virechana, Basti, Nasya, Raktamokshana
  • Shalya Tantra — Ayurvedic Surgery; surgical principles, instruments, and wound management
  • Shalakya Tantra — ENT and Ophthalmology in Ayurveda
  • Prasuti Tantra & Stri Roga — Obstetrics and Gynaecology
  • Kaumarbhritya — Paediatrics; Ayurvedic child health and neonatal care
  • Swasthavritta — Preventive Medicine, Social Health, Yoga, and Dinacharya
  • Agadtantra — Forensic Medicine and Toxicology
  • Research Methodology and Medical Statistics

Homoeopathy (BHMS) Syllabus

The Homoeopathy paper covers subjects from the five-year BHMS curriculum. Materia Medica and Organon are the most important subjects by question share:

  • Homoeopathic Materia Medica — Drug pictures, keynotes, and remedy selection; typically the highest-tested subject
  • Organon of Medicine and Homoeopathic Philosophy — Hahnemann’s Organon; principles and philosophy of Homoeopathy
  • Homoeopathic Pharmacy — Potentisation, preparation, and dispensing of medicines
  • Anatomy
  • Physiology including Biochemistry
  • Pathology and Microbiology
  • Practice of Medicine — Clinical Homoeopathy; diagnosis and treatment
  • Surgery including ENT, Ophthalmology, and Dental Homoeopathic Therapeutics
  • Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Infant Care, and Homoeopathic Therapeutics
  • Community Medicine
  • Forensic Medicine and Toxicology

Siddha (BSMS) Syllabus

The Siddha paper is based on the Tamil traditional medicine system taught in the five-year BSMS programme:

  • Gunapadam — Siddha Materia Medica; properties and uses of herbs, minerals, and animal products
  • Pothu Maruthuvam — General Medicine in Siddha
  • Sirappu Maruthuvam — Special Medicine; targeted disease management
  • Siddha Philosophy — Five-element theory (Lymbootha Kolgai), Three-humoral theory (Uyir Thaathukkal), 96 Fundamental Principles (Thathuvams)
  • Noi Kanippu — Siddha Diagnostic Methods including pulse diagnosis and urine analysis
  • Thol Maruthuvam — Dermatology in Siddha
  • Surgery and Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the BSMS curriculum

Unani (BUMS) Syllabus

The Unani paper tests subjects from the five-year BUMS curriculum based on Graeco-Arabic principles of medicine:

  • Kulliyat-e-Tibb — Principles of Unani Medicine; the foundational theoretical framework
  • Ilmul Advia — Unani Pharmacology and Materia Medica; properties and actions of drugs
  • Moalajat — Internal Medicine in Unani; clinical management of diseases
  • Jarahat — Surgery
  • Ilm ul Tashrih — Anatomy
  • Munafeh ul Azah — Physiology
  • Amraz Niswan wa Ilmul Qabilat — Gynaecology and Obstetrics
  • Ilmul Atfal — Paediatrics

Top Colleges Accepting AIAPGET 2026 Score

AIAPGET score is used for admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma courses in AYUSH institutions across India. The most sought-after seats are at National Institutes under the Ministry of AYUSH — these fill up at very high ranks and offer the most comprehensive PG infrastructure, faculty, and research facilities.

AACCC counselling covers only All India Quota (AIQ) seats. For state quota seats, you must separately register for the respective state government’s AYUSH PG counselling, which runs independently after AACCC rounds are over. The exact number of AIQ seats per institute is published in the AACCC seat matrix before counselling begins.

AIAPGET 2026 Preparation Tips

If you are preparing for AIAPGET in a future cycle, or looking to improve on your 2026 performance for a retake, the strategies below are based on the exam structure, topper approaches, and patterns observed across streams and years.

  • Your UG textbooks are your primary source. AIAPGET is 100% based on the BAMS/BHMS/BSMS/BUMS curriculum. Standard prescribed texts — Charaka Samhita for Ayurveda; Kent’s Materia Medica and Boericke’s for Homoeopathy — are non-negotiable. Do not rely solely on coaching notes.
  • Focus on high-weightage subjects in your stream. In Ayurveda, Dravyaguna Vigyan, Kayachikitsa, Rachana Sharir, and Panchakarma tend to carry more questions. In Homoeopathy, Materia Medica and Organon of Medicine are the highest-weighted areas. Allocate your revision time accordingly.
  • Solve previous year AIAPGET papers — at least 5 years. Question formats and topics recur. Solving past papers helps you identify high-frequency topics, recognize NTA’s question style, and gauge your accuracy under real time pressure.
  • Be strategic about negative marking. Skip questions where you genuinely cannot eliminate at least two wrong options — an unattempted question costs nothing, while a wrong answer costs you 1 mark. This discipline is what separates consistent scorers from inconsistent ones.
  • Practice with timed mock tests. You get exactly 1 minute per question. Practise full 120-question papers in exactly 2 hours — repeatedly — so the pacing becomes instinctive on exam day.
  • Revise classical Ayurvedic texts systematically (Ayurveda stream). Charak Samhita and Sushruta Samhita-based questions appear every year. Focus on frequently cited sutras and their clinical applications rather than memorizing texts verbatim.
  • Plan two full-syllabus revision rounds in the final 3 months. Most toppers do at least two complete syllabus sweeps — first for understanding and second for speed — using short notes or flashcards for drug names, shloka references, and diagnostic criteria.

Ans. A total of 49,864 candidates appeared for AIAPGET 2026, up from 42,075 in 2025 — an increase of about 18% in one year. Ayurveda had by far the largest number of candidates (~19,920 qualified), followed by Homoeopathy (~5,934), Unani (~1,425), and Siddha (~432).

Ques. What are the eligibility criteria for AIAPGET?

Ans. You need a valid BAMS / BHMS / BSMS / BUMS degree from a recognized institution, completion of the one-year compulsory rotatory internship by 31 July 2026 for NCISM streams (Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha) and 31 August 2026 for Homoeopathy, and a valid registration certificate from CCIM/CCH or a state medical board. There is no age limit or limit on the number of AIAPGET attempts.

Ques. What was the highest score in AIAPGET 2026?

Ans. The highest score in AIAPGET 2026 was 417 marks out of 480 in the Homoeopathy stream, scored by Akshaya (percentile: 99.9906042). In Ayurveda, Vinod Ayyamolia topped with 390 marks (99.9972097 percentile). Siddha topper Annaimary A scored 319 marks, and Unani topper Abdul Moghni scored 359 marks. Each stream has a separate rank list.

Ques. Are AIAPGET ranks calculated across all four streams together?

Ans. No. AIAPGET generates separate rank lists for each stream — Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Siddha, and Unani candidates are ranked independently. Your Ayurveda rank does not compare against Homoeopathy or other stream candidates. This separate ranking system means counselling, seat allotment, and institute choices are entirely stream-specific.

Ques. What is the application fee for AIAPGET?

Ans. The AIAPGET 2026 application fee was Rs 2,700 for General (UR), Rs 2,450 for General-EWS and OBC-NCL, and Rs 1,800 for SC, ST, PwBD, and Third Gender candidates. All fees are paid online through the NTA portal and are non-refundable. The fee structure may see minor changes in future cycles.

Ques. Can I apply for state quota AYUSH PG seats through AACCC counselling?

Ans. No. AACCC counselling covers only All India Quota (AIQ) seats. For state quota AYUSH PG seats, you must register separately for the respective state government’s AYUSH PG counselling, which runs independently after AACCC rounds are over. State quota seats form a significant portion of total AYUSH PG seats and are allocated by state AYUSH departments or state health universities.
