Ques. How do I prepare for the entrance exam to get admission to an interior design UG course at CEPT?

● Top Answer By Karishma Khatri on 18 Jan 21

Ans. Try to improve your sketching skill, aptitude, and creativity. In the examination hall, look at what everybody is doing on a particular question and try something different in your answers. Make your answer sheet look unique and do not hesitate to speak in the interview. Be confident and don't take too much time to think. Say whatever comes to your mind first because response time does matter.  The examination pattern is as follows.  Examination Type  State-level CEPT Application Mode Online CEPT Entrance Examination Mode Offline pen paper-based test Official Website http:/www.cept.ac.in Exam Duration  2 hours Total Marks  200 Marking Scheme  No negative marking Exam Fees  500 One of my friends was called for an interview at CEPT, and he was asked the following questions. After the introduction, the question is as follows. What if you have to design a door, what applications of the door will you keep in your mind to design it? What will you do with that? What change you think should be done to the CEPT campus to make it look new. How do you see mobile technology in near future? Prepare for the CEPT entrance exam with aptitude, logical reasoning, basic knowledge, and orientation towards architecture. Instead of typical preparation, try to be creative.Read more

Ques. How should I prepare for the CEPT entrance exam?

● Top Answer By Ankita Sarkar on 18 Jan 21

Ans. As you did not specify which exam you are preparing for it is difficult to give examination-oriented advice.  The table below will give you a brief insight into the CEPT Examination.  Examination Name  Center for Environmental Planning and Technology Entrance Examination Examination Type  State-level CEPT Application Mode Online CEPT Entrance Examination Mode Offline pen paper-based test Email ID-  admissions@cept.ac.in Official Website http:/www.cept.ac.in Exam Duration  2 hours Total Marks  200 Marking Scheme  No negative marking Exam Fees  500 With CEPT you can take admission in Bachelors of Urban Design, Bachelors of Interior Design, and Bachelors of Construction Technology. You can also take admission in postgraduate courses such as Master of Landscape Architecture, Master of Technology in Structural Engineering Design, Master of Urban Management, and Master of Technology in Geometrics.  Discussed below are general preparation tips that can be helpful. Undergraduate Studies - BArch/Design/Engineering: Qualify NAT with good scores in Aptitude, Science, Mathematics, and Analytical Skills.  Prepare well for topics like Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, basic knowledge, and orientation towards the Architecture for CEPT.  The interview round will test your personality and skills. Postgraduate - Masters in Architecture/Planning/Design/Technology: A good GATE score will be helpful. Good marks in Architecture shall help as the exam has objective and subjective type questions. But the selection depends on your skills. Do not read architecture books like pattern language. Rather read about architects and their practice in design. Keep track of current affairs in general and in Architecture. The interview can be stressful. You must stay confident. Have a clear answer about why you want to pursue a Master's degree in a specific field.  Group discussion will be a tiring session but don't forget to strike first. Always remember to close it with a conclusion or a way forward. Be in a steady stand and don't conflict with your statements, just weigh your words and shoot. Visit the CEPT website and read all the info. If possible do pay a visit once before applying for the exam. Roam on the campus, talk to people there, which surely would motivate you to prepare well in an indirect way.Read more

Ques. Is there any entrance exam for construction management at CEPT?

● Top Answer By Karan Luthra on 18 Jan 21

Ans. Construction management (CEM) is a part of the faculty of technology at Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT) University.  Discussed below are a few things that you need to know about the CEPT examination.  The university has a common entrance test for getting into the faculty of technology of all courses. It includes general aptitude and the entrance exam does not have any negative marking scheme.  It is not that difficult to clear the entrance exam if studied well.  After the examination is over and the results are out, the candidates are shortlisted according to the merit list for the interview based on their preferences.  If you have qualified for the GATE examination then the entrance exam for CEPT is not required. The examination is quite simple. Also, the syllabus is the same. CEPT is a great option to pursue Construction Engineering. The course is good and offers exposure to subjects like contracts, planning, scheduling, BIM, etc. This course is one of the best in the Faculty and Technology Department.  The institute offers great exposure and has a decent placement record.Read more
