Karnataka PGCET 2019 Application Form- Apply

Karnataka PGCET 2019 Application Form filling window will be commenced from the third week of May 2019. Candidates had to visit the official portal i.e. to register for PGCET 2019. KEA scheduled the exam for July 14 and 15, 2019.

Bachelor Degree holders with a minimum 50% aggregate marks are eligible to apply for the exam. There are three major phases in filling the online form viz. Registration, Application Form Filling, Uploading documents with Application Fee Payment (INR 650). Candidates who have registered successfully can download their admit cards for PGCET from June 20.

Note: GATE qualifiers are exempted from the exam, however, they are required to fill the counselling/seat allotment form in order to participate in the admission procedure. They are given first preference at the time of seat allocation. And, the scores are valid for up to 3 years.

Karnataka PGCET Eligibility

The courses offered via PGCET Exam are MBA/ MCA/ ME/ M.Tech/ M.Arch (full-time and part-time) in various institutes in the state of Karnataka. The eligibility for each program varies, read on to know a brief about the same:

For MBA Full-time & Part-time

  • Full-time: Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 years (+) 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ ST/ Category-I of Karnataka candidates)
  • Part-time: Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 years (+) 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ ST/ Category-I of Karnataka candidates) (+) must have worked for not less than 3 years as on July 31, 2019
  • Reservation is applicable only for Karnataka candidates. CheckPGCET Reservation
  • Rounding off aggregate percent is not permitted.

For MCA Full-time & Lateral Entry to 2nd year MCA 

  • Full-time: Bachelor’s Degree with Math/ Stats/ Comp. Sci./ Comp. App./ Comp. Prog./ Business Math/ Business Stats (any one subject) (+) 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ ST/ Category-I of Karnataka candidates).
  • Lateral Entry: Bachelor’s Degree in BCA/ B.Sc(I.T./ Comp. Sci) (+) Math in 10+2/ Graduate level (+) 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ ST/ Category-I of Karnataka candidates)

For ME/ M.Tech./ M.Arch. Full-time & Part-time

  • Full-time: Valid GATE Score (OR) Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 years (+) 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ ST/ Category-I of Karnataka candidates)
  • Part-time: Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 years (+) 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ ST/ Category-I of Karnataka candidates) (+) must have worked for not less than 3 years as on July 31, 2019
  • Reservation is applicable only for Karnataka candidates.

Documents/ Credentials Required for PGCET Registration

Candidates must keep the following documents and credentials ready before they register themselves for the exam:

  • 10th class marksheet
  • 12th class marksheet
  • Scanned copy of candidate’s passport sized photograph
  • Scanned copy of candidate’s signature
  • Scanned copy of candidate’s parent signature
  • Scanned copy of the candidate’s left thumb impression
  • Valid ID proof
  • Active Email ID
  • Active Mobile No.

Note: All the documents must be in JPG or JPEG format only.

Karnataka PGCET 2019 Application Form

The online form was released on May 19 at Registration window was functional for approximately one month. There are two phases in the entire procedure.

  • Phase 1: fill all the basic details. Here, one can edit or delete the information provided.
  • Phase 2: review and confirm the information provided. After confirming, candidates cannot make any edits in the application form.

Step 1: Registration

  • Visit the official website of Karnataka PGCET
  • Go to the ‘New User? Register here’ tab.
  • Fill the required details such as Name, Gender, Contact Details, etc.
  • You will then receive a User ID and Password on the email ID and mobile number provided by them.

Step 2: Filling in the Application Form

  • Now login into the account using the credentials provided at the time of registration.
  • Fill in the personal details, academic details and contact details in the given form stated as ‘Student Information Page.’
  • Click on Save and Next.

Step 3: Uploading Required Documents

  • Candidates must keep scanned copies of their latest colored photograph, signature, parent signature and their left thumb impression.
  • Upload the above-mentioned documents in JPG/JPEG format.
  • Select on “save and next” button.
  • Click on next. A declaration page will appear on the screen, candidates must read the declaration and then submit Karnataka PGCET 2019 Application Form.

Document Size & Specifications

KEA has defined specific size, format and dimensions for each of the document. Failing to follow the same will result in cancellation of the application.

Candidate’s Photograph

  • The photo should be in a passport size.
  • It should be a recent one, preferably in color.
  • File Size: 5kb – 40 kb
  • File Dimension: 3.5 cm X 4.5 cm
  • Format: JPG/ JPEG only

Candidate’s Signature

  • The signature should be done on a white paper.
  • It should be done with a blue or black ink.
  • Signatures in capital letters will not be accepted.
  • File Size: 5kb – 40 kb
  • File Dimension: 3.5 cm X 1.5 cm
  • Format: JPG/ JPEG only

Left Thumb Impressions

  • Thumbprint should not be blurred.
  • It should be in blue or blank ink.
  • File Size: 5kb – 40 kb
  • File Dimension: 3.5 cm X 1.5 cm
  • Format: JPG/ JPEG only

Step 4: Accepting Declaration & Submitting the Form

  • After furnishing and the details in the form, candidates must review the entire online form.
  • Post that, a declaration box will pop-up.
  • Read all the details and click ‘Agree’ if you are satisfied with the conditions. 
  • Make note, no edits or omits can be done after submitting the form.

Step 5: Application Fee Payment

  • To complete the payment, candidates must select the bank challan and take a print out of the same.
  • General category candidates must pay INR 650 while reserved category candidates shall pay INR 500 as application fee.
  • The payment can be made through any branch of the specified bank. Candidates will be given two copies of the challan after the payment is completed, and one copy will be retained by bank itself. 
  • Retain a proof of the payment for any future references.
  • After filling Karnataka PGCET 2019 Application Form, take a print out for future references.

Ques. Is Karnataka PGCET 2019 Application Form available in offline mode?

Ans. No. Karnataka PGCET 2019 Application Form is available only online. Any offline application will not be accepted.

Ques. Can Karnataka PGCET 2019 Application Fee payment be made online?

Ans. No, Karnataka PGCET 2019 Application Fee can be made only through the bank challan provided. Any request for online payment of Karnataka PGCET 2019 Application Fee will not be entertained.

Ans. Yes. Eligibility criteria are different for all the courses. Candidates applying for any course in Karnataka PGCET 2019 should have completed 3 year Bachelor’s degree in any course from a college affiliated with a recognized university.

Ques. Is it necessary to fill all the columns in the form?

Ans. Yes, it is necessary to fill all the columns asking for required details. If any column left blank, the application will not be accepted.

Ques. What happens if the information filled is incorrect?

Ans. Candidates can edit the information until the declaration is submitted. After the declaration, any offer to edit the information will not be considered.

Ques. Do students having a valid GATE score required to fill Karnataka PGCET 2019 Application Form?

Ans. Candidates having valid GATE score are not required for appear for Karnataka PGCET 2019 but in order to take admission in any college through Karnataka PGCET, they need to apply online during the application process.

Hi Bhavya, Karnataka PGCET 2018 Counselling will be held from the 1st week of August 2018 by KEA. The schedule for counselling will be uploaded on the official website of the exam authority. Students short-listed through the merit list must attend the counselling rounds according to this schedule, in order of merit.

Hi Prajju, No, You are not eligible for this Entrance Exam, As per rule of this Entrance exam A candidate must have passed recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum of 3 years’ duration or equivalent examination and must have a minimum aggregate of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects including languages in all the years of the Degree Examination is eligible for Entrance Exam (45% of marks in Qualifying exam in case of SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka candidates)
