Karnataka PGCET 2019 Application Form, Dates, Fee and Procedure

Karnataka PGCET 2019 Application Forms: Candidates can register themselves and fill the application form for PGCET 2019 by visiting the official website i.e. kea.kar.nic.in. The last date to fill the form was June 13, 2019 till 5:30 pm. Candidates could fill the application fee till June 14, 2019 during bank hours. 

KEA scheduled the exam for July 20 and 21, 2019 in offline mode. Bachelor Degree holders with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks are eligible to apply for the exam. There are three major phases in filling the online form viz. Registration, Application Form Filling, Uploading Documents with Application Fee Payment (INR 650).

Candidates who have registered successfully can download their admit cards for PGCET from July 11.

Note: GATE qualifiers are exempted from the exam. However, they are required to fill the counselling/seat allotment form to participate in the admission procedure. They are given first preference at the time of seat allocation. And the scores are valid for up to 3 years.

Karnataka PGCET Eligibility

The courses offered via PGCET Exam are MBA/ MCA/ ME/ M.Tech/ M.Arch (full-time and part-time) in various institutes in the state of Karnataka. The eligibility for each program varies, read on to know a brief about the same:

For MBA Full-time & Part-time

  • Full-time: Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 years (+) 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ ST/ Category-I of Karnataka candidates)
  • Part-time: Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 years (+) 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ ST/ Category-I of Karnataka candidates) (+) must have worked for not less than 3 years as on July 31, 2019
  • Reservation is applicable only for Karnataka candidates. CheckPGCET Reservation
  • Rounding off aggregate percent is not permitted.

For MCA Full-time & Lateral Entry to 2nd year MCA 

  • Full-time: Bachelor’s Degree with Math/ Stats/ Comp. Sci./ Comp. App./ Comp. Prog./ Business Math/ Business Stats (any one subject) (+) 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ ST/ Category-I of Karnataka candidates).
  • Lateral Entry: Bachelor’s Degree in BCA/ B.Sc(I.T./ Comp. Sci) (+) Math in 10+2/ Graduate level (+) 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ ST/ Category-I of Karnataka candidates)

For ME/ M.Tech./ M.Arch. Full-time & Part-time

  • Full-time: Valid GATE Score (OR) Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 years (+) 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ ST/ Category-I of Karnataka candidates)
  • Part-time: Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 years (+) 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ ST/ Category-I of Karnataka candidates) (+) must have worked for not less than 3 years as on July 31, 2019
  • Reservation is applicable only for Karnataka candidates.

Documents/ Credentials Required for PGCET Registration

Candidates must keep the following documents and credentials ready before they register themselves for the exam:

  • 10th class marksheet
  • 12th class marksheet
  • Scanned copy of candidate’s passport sized photograph
  • Scanned copy of candidate’s signature
  • Scanned copy of candidate’s parent signature
  • Scanned copy of the candidate’s left thumb impression
  • Valid ID proof
  • Active Email ID
  • Active Mobile No.

Note: All the documents must be in JPG or JPEG format only.


Karnataka PGCET 2019 Application Form

The online form was released on May 19 at kea.kar.nic.in. Registration window was functional for approximately one month. There are two phases in the entire procedure.

  • Phase 1: fill all the basic details. Here, one can edit or delete the information provided.
  • Phase 2: review and confirm the information provided. After confirming, candidates cannot make any edits in the application form.

Step 1: Registration

  • Visit the official website of Karnataka PGCET
  • Go to the ‘New User? Register here’ tab.
  • Fill the required details such as Name, Gender, Contact Details, etc.
  • You will then receive a User ID and Password on the email ID and mobile number provided by them.

Step 2: Filling in the Application Form

  • Now login into the account using the credentials provided at the time of registration.
  • Fill in the personal details, academic details and contact details in the given form stated as ‘Student Information Page.’
  • Click on Save and Next.

Step 3: Uploading Required Documents

  • Candidates must keep scanned copies of their latest colored photograph, signature, parent signature and their left thumb impression.
  • Upload the documents mentioned above in JPG/JPEG format.
  • Select on “save and next” button.
  • Click on next. A declaration page will appear on the screen; candidates must read the declaration and then submit the Karnataka PGCET 2019 Application Form.

Document Size & Specifications

KEA has defined specific size, format and dimensions for each of the document. Failing to follow the same will result in cancellation of the application.

Candidate’s Photograph

  • The photo should be in passport size.
  • It should be a recent one, preferably in color.
  • File Size: 5kb – 40 kb
  • File Dimension: 3.5 cm X 4.5 cm
  • Format: JPG/ JPEG only

Candidate’s Signature

  • The signature should be done on a white paper.
  • It should be done in blue or black ink.
  • Signatures in capital letters will not be accepted.
  • File Size: 5kb – 40 kb
  • File Dimension: 3.5 cm X 1.5 cm
  • Format: JPG/ JPEG only

Left Thumb Impressions

  • Thumbprint should not be blurred.
  • It should be in blue or black ink.
  • File Size: 5kb – 40 kb
  • File Dimension: 3.5 cm X 1.5 cm
  • Format: JPG/ JPEG only

Step 4: Accepting Declaration & Submitting the Form

  • After furnishing and the details in the form, candidates must review the entire online form.
  • Post that, a declaration box will pop-up.
  • Read all the details and click ‘Agree’ if you are satisfied with the conditions. 
  • Make note, no edits or omits can be done after submitting the form.

Step 5: Application Fee Payment

  • To complete the payment, candidates must select the bank challan and take a print out of the same.
  • General category candidates must pay INR 650 while reserved category candidates shall pay INR 500 as application fee.
  • The payment can be made through any branch of the specified bank. Candidates will be given two copies of the challan after the payment is completed, and the bank itself will retain one copy. 
  • Retain proof of the payment for any future references.
  • After filling Karnataka PGCET 2019 Application Form, take a print out for future references.

Ques. Is Karnataka PGCET 2019 Application Form available in offline mode?

Ans. No. Karnataka PGCET 2019 Application Form is available only online. Any offline application will not be accepted.

Ques. Can Karnataka PGCET 2019 Application Fee payment be made online?

Ans. No, Karnataka PGCET 2019 Application Fee can be made only through the bank challan provided. Any request for online payment of Karnataka PGCET 2019 Application Fee will not be entertained.

Ans. No. Karnataka PGCET 2019 is for Karnataka residents only. No candidates from any other state can apply.

Ques. What is the Karnataka PGCET 2019 eligibility?

Ans. Yes. Eligibility criteria are different for all the courses. Candidates applying for any course in Karnataka PGCET 2019 should have completed 3 years Bachelor’s degree in any course from a college affiliated with a recognized university.

Ques. Is it necessary to fill all the columns in the form?

Ans. Yes, it is necessary to fill all the columns asking for the required details. If any column left blank, the application would not be accepted.

Ques. What happens if the information filled is incorrect?

Ans. Candidates can edit the information until the declaration is submitted. After the declaration, any offer to edit the information will not be considered.

Ques. Do students have a valid GATE score required to fill the Karnataka PGCET 2019 Application Form?

Ans. Candidates having valid GATE score are not required to appear for Karnataka PGCET 2019 but to take admission in any college through Karnataka PGCET, they need to apply online during the application process.

Hi Aanya, if you are applying for reservation on these grounds, then, you must have these documents otherwise you would not be able to avail the benefit of reservation.
