Examples of Class 7 Chapter 11 Perimeter & Area

Ques 1. Calculate the perimeter of a square of side 4 cm.

Ans. We know the formula for perimeter of a square.

Perimeter of a square = 4a

Here, a = 4 cm

Perimeter = 4 x 4

Perimeter = 16 cm

Ques 2. Calculate the perimeter of a rectangle of length 10 cm and breadth 6 cm.

Ans. We know the formula for perimeter of a rectangle.

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(l+b)

Here, l = 10cm and b = 6 cm

Perimeter = 2(10 + 6)

Perimeter = 2 x 16

= 32 cm.
