Examples of Class 7 Chapter 11 Perimeter & Area
| Ques 1. Calculate the cost of fencing a square garden of side 10cm at the rate of 4 rupees per cm. Ans. Let us first find the perimeter of the square garden = 4a = 4 x 10 = 40cm. The rate of fencing = Rs. 4 per cm Rate of fencing 40 cm of perimeter = 40 x 4 = Rs.160 Ques 2. Calculate the area of a rectangular garden of length 10 m and breadth 6 m. Also calculate the cost of tiling at the rate of Rs. 10 per square metre. Ans. We know that, Area of a rectangle - l x b Here, l = 10 cm and b = 6 cm Therefore, Area = 10 x 6 = 60 m2. Cost of tiling = Rs.10 per sq.meter. Cost of tiling 60m2 = 60 x 10 Cost of tiling 60m2 = Rs. 600 |
