Examples of Class 7 Chapter 12 Algebraic Expressions

Ques 1. Add 2x + 5 = 0 and 4x + 8 = 0

Ans. To add two algebraic expressions, add the numerical term of the same variable together.

2x + 5 = 0

4x + 8 = 0

–-----------

6x + 13 = 0

Ques 2. In the algebraic expression 4x + 3y = 0, find the value of y.

Ans. To find the value of y, bring every other terms onto the right side except y.

→ 4x + 3y = 0

→ 3y = -4x

→ y = -4x/3

Thus value of y is -4x/3
