NCERT Solutions for Class 7 Maths Chapter 4 Simple Equations Exercise 4.3 is given as a pdf for students to refer to for their assignments and school exams. Exercise 4.3 gives students more questions to master the concept of solving equations.

Students are familiarised with changing the side while solving an equation (transposing) and arriving at the equation from the solution (reverse-path) are also familiarised. Transposing an equation has a similar effect as adding or subtracting a number on both sides of the equation. The only thing students need to remember is that the sign of the term interchanged needs to be switched.

Example From Class 7 Chapter 4 Simple Equations

Ques. Solve the following equation

(a) 10p = 100

(b) 10p + 10 = 100

Ans.

  1. 10p = 100

The unknown variable to find is p in the above equation

Taking the factor 10 to the RHS and dividing, the equation becomes

p = 100/10

Therefore,

p = 10

  1. 10p + 10 = 100

The unknown variable to find is p in the above equation

Taking 10 to the RHS to further solve the equation we get,

10p = 100-10

Therefore,

10p = 90

Solving for p by taking 10 to RHS and dividing we get,

p = 9
