| Ques. The sum of three times a number and 11 is 32. Determine the number. Ans. Let the unknown number be x From the question, we deduce the equation as 3 times the number x = 3x Sum of 3 times number x and 11 = 32 Therefore, 3x + 11 = 32 Solving the equation further by taking 11 to the RHS and changing the sign 3x = 32 - 11 3x = 21 Taking the factor 3 to RHS and dividing we get, x=21/3 Therefore, the unknown number x = 7. |
