Exercise 6.2 is based on the properties of the exterior angle of a triangle. The exterior angle of a triangle is formed when the side of a triangle is produced. At each of the vertices of the triangle, there are two ways of forming an exterior angle. The exterior angle property is:
The exterior angle of a triangle is equal to the sum of its interior opposite angles
Using this property the question in exercise 6.2 can be solved.

| Ques. Find the value of the interior angle in the figures below:
Ans. (i) The exterior angle property of the triangle is given as the sum of the interior opposite angles. Applying for the figure we get, x + 500 = 1150 => x = 1150 – 500 = 650 (ii) The exterior angle property of the triangle is given as the sum of the interior opposite angles. Applying for the figure we get, x + 700 = 1000 => x = 1000 – 700 = 300 |
