Ex.1 State True or False

  1. The diagonals of a rhombus are perpendicular to each other and bisect each other.
  2. The opposite angle of a rectangle formed at the point where the diagonals meet is congruent.
  3. All sides of a parallelogram are congruent.

 Soln:

 Ex2.  Construct a parallelogram ABCD with AB=4 cm, BC=5cm, and ∠B= 600.

Soln: The steps are as follows:

  1. Let's first draw AB=4cm.
  2. Let’s draw a ray BX such that ∠ABX= 600.
  3. Let’s mark a point c, such that BC=5cm.
  4. Keeping A & C as the center, let’s draw arcs of 4 cm and 5 cm respectively intersecting at D.
  5. ABCD is hence the parallelogram.
