BHU Result 2026 Portal by Program Type

BHU uses more than one online portal. Each handles a different part of the exam cycle.

Portal What Students Use It For Login
bhu.ucanapply.com Semester results, marks and exam notices Email ID and password
bhuonline.in Exam forms, back paper fee and admit cards Student login
bhu.samarth.ac.in Semester marks for UG students under NEP Samarth student login

BHU has displayed Semester I marks of UG NEP students on the Samarth portal. So NEP students should check Samarth along with the exam portal.

How to Check BHU Result 2026?

Students check the result online with the login details given by the exam office. The steps are simple.

  1. Open the BHU exam portal at bhu.ucanapply.com.
  2. Click on STUDENT, then on Student Exam Portal.
  3. Enter the registered email ID and password.
  4. Open the result section after logging in.
  5. Select the course and the semester.
  6. View the marks and download the result as a PDF.

Example: A B.Com 3rd semester student opens the portal in January 2027. The student logs in and selects B.Com, Semester III. The odd semester result appears there by January 18, 2027.

What the BHU Grade Card Shows?

The online result carries the main academic details for each course. Students should match each entry with their admit card.

  • Student name and roll number
  • Course name and semester
  • Course codes and course titles
  • Sessional (internal) marks and end semester marks
  • Grade in each course
  • SGPA, CGPA and the result status

Each course carries 100 marks under the B.Sc. (Hons.) ordinance. Sessional work carries 30 marks. The end semester exam carries 70 marks.

BHU Grading System and CGPA to Percentage

BHU awards a letter grade in every course. The B.Sc. (Hons.) ordinance sets the grades below.

Marks (Out of 100) Grade Grade Point
90-100 S 10
80-89 A 9
70-79 B 8
60-69 C 7
50-59 D 6
40-49 E 5
Passed with grace P 4
0-39 F 0

Grade E is the minimum pass grade. An I grade means the student missed the exam. It counts as F.

How SGPA and CGPA Are Worked Out?

SGPA is the credit-weighted average of grade points in one semester. CGPA is the same average across all semesters so far. Both are cut at two decimal places.

BHU CGPA to Percentage Formula

The ordinance converts CGPA to percentage with one formula: Percentage = 10 x CGPA - 4.5.

Example: A student with a CGPA of 7.5 gets 75 minus 4.5. That equals 70.5 percent.

Division CGPA Range
First Division with Distinction 8.5 and above
First Division 6.5 to below 8.5
Second Division 5.0 to below 6.5

Passed, Promoted or Failed: What the Result Status Means

The result status decides whether a student moves ahead. The B.Sc. (Hons.) ordinance uses three labels.

  • Passed: the student has cleared every course of the semester.
  • Promoted: the student moves up but has one or more failed courses.
  • Failed: the student stays back until failed courses are cleared.

Promotion after the 2nd and 4th semesters needs at least 4.0 CGPA. To pass the degree, the final CGPA must be at least 5.0.

Important: A failed course gets two more chances. The whole degree must be cleared within six years of admission.

BHU Supplementary Exam 2026 After the Result

Students with failed courses clear them in the supplementary exam. The exam office released the 2025-26 schedule through official notices.

Event Date
Supplementary exam notice issued June 16, 2026
Last date for supplementary exam form July 20, 2026
Exams begin for UG 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th and PG 1st, 3rd, 5th semesters August 1, 2026
Extended form date for some Arts and Commerce courses August 5, 2026

Students fill the form on bhuonline.in and pay the back paper fee online. Then they submit the form and fee receipt at the exam office counter. The admit card is also downloaded from bhuonline.in.

The August 5 extension covered B.Com and B.Com (FMM) 6th semester. It also covered M.Com or MBA 4th semester. MA Social Work 4th and B.Voc 6th semesters were included too.

Is Revaluation Allowed After the BHU Result?

No. The BHU B.Sc. (Hons.) ordinance clearly says there is no re-evaluation. The M.Sc. ordinances follow the same rule.

Instead, teachers show the checked answer scripts to students. This happens within 7 days of the last exam of the semester. A student who objects to the marking can raise it then. A panel of two senior teachers, named by the Dean, decides the case.

Important: The panel's decision is final. So students should review the answer scripts during the showing window itself.

Role of the BHU Ombudsperson

BHU has an Ombudsperson for student complaints. The post went to Prof. S.M. Singh through a notice dated July 23, 2025. The Ombudsperson hears appeals only after other remedies are used.

A plain request to re-check marks is not heard. The student must show a clear irregularity that changed the result. The Ombudsperson tries to settle each case within 30 days.
